Description for Ford Other 1952
Click on the pictures above for larger images. This is a nice driving '52 Ford Crestline...Ford's top of the line for 1952. This is the hardtop with all the extra stainless trimming. It is a nice driver quality car with a lot of money invested in it. This car is clean: inside, utside, nderside. You can hop in, tart it right up, nd enjoy a comfortable and reliable car.
Steering, hifting, raking is all very good. The 6 volt system is intact and working fine. The flathead V8 in the car is from 1952 but is not original to the car. It was rebuilt (to what extent, don't know) before going in. Everything works on this car: gauges, ocks, indows, atches, ights, entilation...everything but the lighter! The trunk pan and floors are totally solid. This car has the desirable factory tinted windows. It has a couple of 1953 touches that I like so I left them in place: the horizontal chrome spears above the rear wheels and the "wings" trunk lock.
The prior owner spent freely on fixing everything mechanical and almost everything cosmetic. The stainless is all there but is mostly driver quality, ot show quality. A nice paint job was put on but they did not do great body before the paint went on. Rust is not coming through after 3 years, o it was prepped properly, ut the panels are not as smooth as I would prefer. So, t's not ready for Pebble Beach but it's an awesome cruiser as well as a great candidate for a mild custom treatment. My plan was to lower it and paint it an almost black green metallic. I was really glad to find a car where about all that was left for me to deal with was the fun stuff. Too many projects forces me to let some things go.
I'll be happy to meet you or the shipper and help with the pickup.

Some, ut not all, f the work done on the car:-new high quality front and rear bumpers-all new or re-chromed grille parts (except parking light surrounds)-new windshield and gasket-many new parts in the engine bay-all new correct wiring throughout-new interior, ncluding trunk-new brakelines and pads all around-new fuel lines and gas tank-new exhaust and muffler-new front fenders (prior owner said NOS but it seems unlikely to me that new fenders would have been sitting somewhere since 1952)-new lower quarters
On the negative side: there are some areas with rust damage that were not repaired or were minimally dealt with. These areas are: the outriggers under the car that go to the outside edge of the car, he metal at the bottom of the inner quarters where they would attach to the outer quarters, he bottom of the driver's door has a hole about 4 inches long and has rust along the length of the bottom where the inner and outer door pieces meet (this is all on the underside the door so you don't see it but it is significant). None of these affect the drivability of the car and you could put them off for another day, s I did.
Here is a brief video of the car starting and talking a short trip: On Jun-24-15 at 08:46:29 PDT, eller added the following information:
