Description for Ford Other 1956
What I have here is an original 81,000 + mile ( there are no records to confirm the mileage) Ford Ranch Wagon with the optional Thunderbird 292 V-8 with 3 speed manual on the column. Plenty of power and no smoke. Everything works as designed on this Ford except the clock(it works occasionally)..This Ford has always been well cared for and is extremely dependable. Drive anywhere any time. Very nice steering and shifting Ford. We believe the Wagon was originally purchased on Long Islan, New York from Herbert & Bloomfield -Franklin Square, ong Island..The man was a mason and worked in the spring -summer -fall. Parked the wagon for the winter. I purchased this Ford four years ago from Jack Howerton the successful sprint car driver and chassis fabricator as well as Americas Most Beautiful Roadster builder award winner a few years back . Jack purchased the wagon from Nick Alexander (Nick Alexander BMW)in Los Angeles.Nick had a huge Woody collection that he sold off several years ago..This wagon was one of his favorites to drive. Google both men. This Ford was driven to Bonneville salt flats several years in a row by me.At the time I lived in Arizona.(I live in Florida now) .. A 1600 mile round trip each year on back roads with elevation swings from 2,000 ft. to about 10,000 ft. And temperatures in the high high 90's .A flawless drive always. No overheating. The wagon does have some dings and a small dent as well as a crack in the sliding side glass and wiper marks on passenger side of windshield. These flaws do not detract from the Ford at all. They could be repaired in a day there so minimal. This wagon has most of it's original paint as well. There is evidence of some past touch ups.But you would expect that from an original car. A little ding here and a touch up there etc. The're only original once applies here. However it would be an excellent candidate for a restoration. But in my humble opinion that will only make it look bette, not drive better. Some original inspection marks on the firewall. This vehicle is being sold in "as is condition". No warranties are made by the seller.
