Description for Ford Other 1950
1950 Ford Custom Deluxe Tudor Sedan, 39 cubic inch flathead V8 with overdrive transmission. I bought this car last winter as a semi-finished project, ot it roadworthy and have been enjoying it for the last year. From what I can tell the previous owner had the car about 12 years and in that time the car had some rust in the passenger front floor and quarters patched, as painted, ad new interior installed, ew flat glass installed, eather-stripping and window felt installed, rake and fuel systems gone through, tainless buffed, ost of the chrome redone, iamondback radial tires installed, ome drivetrain and suspension work done, ew main wiring harness installed, nd started a 12 VDC conversion. The car has a chrome 1 wire Delco alternator, high torque mini-starter, 2 VDC heater blower motor, lectric wipers, olid state reducers for all the gauges, nd LED taillights. All the lights, witches, auges are fully converted and I also added blinkers. I have the overdrive solenoid wired on a toggle switch so it can be activated in any gear at any time. I have also added a 12 VDC electric priming pump and an Optima battery so the car will start good after sitting for several weeks. I added seat belts for safety. The clock and heater both work and I also installed a rebuilt control valve on the heater. I added an AM/FM stereo with dual cone in dash speaker (about $750 total) so it looks stock but you can actually use the radio. I have installed new head gaskets, thanol proof mechanical fuel pump and rubber flex line, park plugs, nd factory style single exhaust along with other odds and ends required to keep an old car going. We enjoy the car (drove it 16 miles today) and it cruises fine at 60 with the overdrive. The brakes work good with no pulling or diving when applied and the E-brake is hooked up. I have a new set of fender skirts (not painted to match) that I will include with the car. I have keys for ignition, oors, nd trunk. This is a Saint Paul, N built car and how it got to GA I don't know. The frame and undercarriage are in great shape so it must have moved early! I have no idea of actual mileage; odometer is showing 28,106. The bad: paint is amateur quality with some trash, hips, nd a scratch in it. There are a couple of obvious bondo spots on the hood where it wasn't sanded adequately, ome lifting in some of the body creases (hasn't gotten worse since I owned it), nd the door jambs have some primer showing through on the A pillar in places. It is a "5 foot" car; shines and looks good with plenty of complements but the paint job isn't going to win you any shows. I have added photos of the bad spots in the paint. The driver door shuts ok but you have to pull it hard to close (maybe it needs an adjustment?) and one of the hinge screw heads is rung off. The steering box is a little on the loose side (I adjusted it, ut made it worse, uess it needs adjusting the other way). The temp gauge just quit working last week (I think it's the gauge, ot the senders, ecause I moved the wire to another sender with no success-I just haven't had time to lay under the dash and swap a new gauge in). The battery will discharge if left sitting for a week so I just undo the ground cable when I'm not driving it regularly. Drivers windshield glass is cracked at the top. I'm likely making it sound worse than it is but trying to be honest because buying on Ebay can be scary... Like I noted, t's a fun family cruiser. It's not perfect, f it was I'd raise my asking price. You can't buy a $3500-$4000 shoebox and get it to the condition of this car for my asking price. I'm only selling because I purchased another old Ford and don't have room for both. GA is a non-title state on a car this old so it will be sold via bill of sale only. Feel free to come inspect before bidding if you are local enough to Jeffersonville, A 31044. I can't ship it but I will work with your shipper to load. PayPal deposit of $200 due within 48 hours of auction end; balance due in cash at time of pickup. Four 7 eight two 3 three 3 two nine 2. I can store it for up to two weeks after the sale in my garage while shipping is arranged. No warranty of any kind and the sale is final. Proud American who sells to Americans!********************************************************************************************************************************************************I have a good steering box from another 50 I will include just in case the box on this car isn't able to be adjusted back satisfactory.
