Up for auction is a 1971 Ford Mustang Mach I “TRUE original”… an original 1-owner local Thomson, eorgia car with the original title (dated 11/18/70), nd the original factory Bright Red paint, he original Mach I Sports Interior, nd the completely original drivetrain. The car runs, ides, nd drives great as we have just serviced the entire car and put on a brand new set of Cooper Cobra Radial GT’s (215/70-14’s)… The car has 112,755 original miles.

Mrs. Peggy B (Thomson, A.) bought this car brand new from Satcher Ford on 11/18/1970. She owned the car from that day until 07/01/2015, hen she sold the car to me. As mentioned above… I have the original & current Georgia Title from 1970 as well as a letter of ownership from Mrs. Peggy and an official Mart Report.

The original 351 2V V-8 runs excellent. It is tuned perfect and starts with one turn of the key. You don’t even need to pump the gas at all. It is not burning oil and there is no smoke. The motor is in real good condition and the car has never been run hard or abused and the original owner, rs. Peggy, ill attest to that fact and she did so in her letter of ownership. Under the hood is all original Ford right down to the air cleaner wingnut…This Mustang is pure! No cheap overseas/re-pop parts on this one. The original 3-speed transmission shifts smooth and feels real good. This car is really a pleasure to drive and with the originality it is super cool as well. I don’t know of anything else mechanically speaking that we could have done to make it ride, rive or perform any better. I believe the car to be super dependable and I certainly wouldn’t hesitate to drive it anywhere… right now!

The paint & body is pretty remarkable for being original and 44 years old. The car was kept in Mrs. Peggy’s carport for most its life so it never really stayed outside in the weather very much. The Mach I was never wrecked and the only damage that it ever really got on the body was the lower passenger side rear quarter down below the red in the black area. Her husband backed over a curb and bent it a little down low. They had it repaired and now there is a little rust in that area. The only other rust that I can find is a little below the tail lights in the very corner of the flat area and a little behind the rear quarter glass on the side. I will show these areas in the pictures. There is a lot of patina on the paint but heck its 44 years old. I wouldn’t paint it…. As I stated above … a car can be restored many times but it can only be original once! The glass is all original but the front windshield does have a star in it. (It could possibly be fixed by the glass chip repair man). The windows roll up and down just fine. All of the trim and the bright work is original and in pretty good shape except the rear bumper which is a little rough.

The interior is the original Mach I sports interior. Everything is original except the AM radio which was replaced some time back. Actually the interior is in pretty good shape with the exception of the carpet and the driver’s seat does have a tear on the side from getting in and out of the car. It’s taped up for now and I probably wouldn’t have it reupholstered since it’s all original. The shifter boot is torn and the clock doesn’t work. It didn’t have a dome light lens on it so I ordered one from NPD. The gauges work as well as all the lights.

The bottom of the car is solid with no rust areas. The torque boxes are straight and not bent up. The floors and trunks are solid and the rockers are as well.

This is a pure car, nmolested, nd all Ford. Rare to find a 1-owner original like this one. It’s a good car to buy and keep as this type car only goes up in value for sure. It’s better than money in the bank that’s for sure so don’t miss out on this one!
