Description for Ford Mustang 1965

This mustang started life as a real D code 4spd a/c ps pb car. As it is a D code. this is better known as a 1964 1/2 mustang coupe. My understanding is that D code was the original hi performance option prior to K code. i bought this car approximately 3 years ago from a dealer in arizona called "Arizona collector cars". They actually still have the original listing on their web site under the sold tab . page 13. scroll down to "1965 mustang coupe injected 302/340 5spd" and view lots of additional pictures at arizonacollectorcars . I had the car shipped to new york. This car has had lots of money put into it by the previous owner and i have a lot of that documentation and receipts which come with the car. To start. this mustang is a driver. not a trailer queen. items installed prior to me:1966 dash cluster (looks better)Ford SVT 302/340hp aluminum crate motorAccell fuel injection system THRUSTER DFITremec 5 spd transmissionAluminum radiatorTrick flow manifold and fuel railsOptima batteryPower rack and pinion steeringFrame connectorsHeaders w/ dual exhaustTilt steering columnGT350 steering wheelChrome magnum wheelsComp T/A bfg tires 225 rear / 205 frontNew wiring harnessThis car starts runs and drives like as a 1965 mustang should. The suspension is tight. I have driven this car approximately 1000 miles in 3 years. mostly to car shows. Now for the picky parts. When i received the car. the transport company over tightened the hold downs which elongated the factory holes in the front subframe. functionally not an issue but i don't like that it happened and i didn't notice until after he left. lesson learned. The windshield wipers stopped working. I'm assuming the motor needs replacing. The car was rust free AZ original sheet metal . as described by dealer and others that have worked on the car for me. I had the car undercoated when it came in. to prevent the NY weather from causing issues with the AZ metal. If you look close at the pictures you will see "bubbling" starting on the lower portion of the drivers side quarter panel. the lower part of the drivers front fender and the lower portion of the passenger side rear quarter panel. All are minimal but will need to be addressed at some point. as i stated earlier. this is a drivers car and as such the paint is a solid 5 to 10 footer. There are some chips and some rash on the front hood as well as some checking. Stance is nice. engine has a great throaty sound svt alum 302/340 hp long block. i believe the headers are shorty tri y. 24 pound injectors. engine idles high 1600 - 1800 rpm. then settles down to 900 rpm when warm. Car was put on a 4 wheel chassis dyno and tuned last summer. No smoking runs great. Hood needs to be aligned. Again. I'm picky. The interior is nice. small tear in drivers seat seam (see pic). Center console is removable. Last owner installed gauges under dash and apparently disconnected the dash gauges and dash lights. my plan was to remove the new gouges and go back to the dash or install a dakota digital unit. Innovative racing air fuel gauge - red. A/C runs cold. windows all work but fronts could use new felts and plastic rollers (orange rollers included ). never got to them. The dash has been cut for an aftermarket radio. bad job. and needs a repair patch panel (included). i have a number of spare parts that go with the car in addition to the ones I've mentioned. such as:Two 225 r15 comp t/a's - were on the front but i changed to the 205's recently - looks betterDrake remote side view mirrorsTrim removal toolsTrunk appearance kitI am listing this car as i just don't have the time to complete and hate to see it sit. I have more then $23k in this car and minus the original car price the previous owner had over $19k in this car. All the hard work is done. This stang can be a great ride with a little work or just use as is. My loss is your gain. Car is located in Farmingdale. New York. Any and all shipping costs responsibility of buyer. I will assist with pick up but all responsibility is the buyers. $1000 deposit required within 24 hrs of auction end. balance within 5 days. no refunds. If you have any questions. don't assume. ask before you bid. As this is a 50 yr old vehicle . actual milage cannot be verified and i am only stating based on the broker that i purchased this car from. This car is for sale locally and i reserve the right to end auction at any time. Type the vin in google for more info. i ended this auction last week due to a family emergency that required my attention out of state. GOOD LUCK BIDDING.
