Description for Ford Model A 1930
Up for sale is an original 1930 Ford Model A Hot Rod! The story is that the car was purchased by a young man in 1964. who drove it to Alameda High School in Lakewood. CO. In 1965. He pulled a 265 Chevy V8 from a wreck. and rebuilt the motor in his shop class. Then. in typical 1965 fashion. used an adapter to couple it to a 1939 Ford 3 speed. and used a 1940 front and rear end. put this hot rod together! The car was driven until he graduated from high school. then taken to college again here in Colorado. From there it went into inside storage in 1972 (see plate) where it has stayed. more or less. until I purchased it from that same owner in summer of this year. I helped remove the car from it's storage. still bearing the 1972 license plates. It also has wonderful old purple and white pleated interior. dice knobs. Plexiglas firewall. and other tidbits you'd expect from a car built in the 60's. Steering does not function and has been disconnected. nbsp; the guy told me that the steering box was from some GMC pickup. Since the car was put in storage. various parts have been scavenged off of it. it's missing the transmission and some of the brake components. I have backing plates for the front. but they are just bare backing plates. no guts. I have the center section of the hood with no sides. with the same patina. I have a brake pedal assembly that I bought but the original brake pedal assembly and master is missing. and there is no top. The wood looks surprisingly good. there is very very little rust. the patina is terrific. The wheels. hub caps and rings are from a 1946 Ford. I have not tried to start the motor. but it does turn over. As I said. the transmission is missing. The rear end is from a 1940 Ford. the front is as well. I had intentions of building the car back to a runner myself. but I just am not going to be able to do it and the car needs to be sold. It's a shame. because I know full well that I'll never find another one like this. Make no mistake. this car is a project. nbsp; but it's a totally righteous vintage 1960's hot rod just waiting for someone to put back on the road and get her going. If you need specifics or other information. call me (Quinn) at 303-681-7770 and I'll do my best to accommodate you. I can store the car for awhile. but I don't want to be taken advantage of either. Let me know your questions or needs and we'll see what can be done to make this happen-
