Exterior
Mustang was repainted from original blue color to Wimbledon White many years ago and it starting to show age, ut looks good overall. Some chips and cracks can be found in the paint. Body is in great shape with no signs of rust or dents. Convertible top is an older replacement but shows no tears. Rear window will need to be replaced as it is very opaque from age and has cracked. Windshield also is cracked at the edge of the passenger side but does not obscure the road. Emblems were removed after one had been stolen. The remaining 289 and Mustang emblem are included.
Interior
Interior was reupholstered many years ago but is in good shape with little wear to the seats. Door panels appear original and do show some staining. Steering wheel and dash are unfortunately cracked.
Mechanical
The Mustang came to us not running; the owner had driven the car very little for the past several years and had not driven it at all in the past year. After replacing the fuel pump, he engine starts easily and runs well. Brakes had to be bled and do stop the car but a complete service should be performed before taking the car on the road. Transmission is noisy, uspect that the grease has slowly leaked out over the years. Power top is working but the driver side hydraulic ram does leak with use. Radio is working!
This is a nice, riginal V8, anual transmission convertible Mustang. This car would make an excellent restoration candidate or the start of a great resto-mod.
