The Mustang was introduced at the World's Fair in NY on April 17th, 964. I was there, nd it was an amazingtime. This car was built within two months of introduction on June 18, 964 making this an early production car.There were only 28,883 convertibles made. It is Rangoon Red (J code) Trim is red (85);DSO was Atlanta (21) ;Axle is conventional 3.00:1; It is a 3 speed Automatic. The engine is the 225 hp 289ci 4BBL which has a ton of power, utis notthe original engine. It was a good choice for a replacement asit is morepowerful than the original 260 ci. There have been added features like the trumpet exhaust and rear tail valence. The car drivesas-new with no rattles (so, guess I can saybetter than new). It looks amazingas an older restoration withexcellent paint and interior. There are brand new 2 1/4 inch exhaust pipes and Magnaflow mufflers that give it a rich sound.Excellent tires.Front end is tight with new bushings, as shocks and it drivesstraight down the road. There is no hesitation to the car, nd all the mechanics are excellent. The transmission is recently serviced. There are no leaks. The power top works as well as the radio/ tape player. Gages all work. The 92k miles are totally believable, nd that is what the title says it has. You will be amazed at how nice this car is. This is a gorgeous looking and driving car that has all the markings of the early 641/2 Mustang.
