Description for Ford Ranchero 1963
1963 Ford Ranchero. This is a nice truck. It is in driver condition, othing perfect, ost everything good. The paint is pretty low quality applied who knows how many years ago. Looks like a couple of paint applications under that. Panels are in pretty good shape, ith no major damage. A few small dings and battle scars here and there. There is some rust in the bottom of the passenger side rear panel just after the wheel and it appears to be a start on the bottom of the passenger door. All in all the body is pretty damn good and would not require a great effort get new paint on it. The inside of the bed is good shape, ind the same as the rest of the body, few dings, ut no major damage and no apparent rust issues. The interior is original. The seat may have been done once, ot sure. The carpets are replacements and not the best quality, ut look fine. The dash is really in nice shape. I think the bezel has been replaced but its a good quality reproduction. Headliner is good, oor panels good as well with no rips or tears. The windows could use new runners. I have new urethane rollers for the window tracks. All the door seals are worn and original and should be replaced at some point. The VIN show the car as an original 260 V-8 car with a two speed Ford-o-matic transmission. I did not build this motor. I pulled the valve covers off to change the gaskets and they are clearly 289 heads. I think the engine is an early 289 5-bolt and not the original 260. The block could be the original 260, ut probably not if it has 289 heads on it. The inside of the motor is quite clean and healthy looking. It has piston shuffle when it is cold and goes away when it gets heat in it, hich would indicate forged pistons. Once warm it is quiet and runs great. I did put a digital distributor in. It starts instantly and is an easy driver. It has the original two barrel intake manifold and carburetor and the original exhaust manifolds. The exhaust system is a two into one single exhaust and appears pretty recently installed. The tires are near new. The spare is missing, ut would be easy to acquire a correct one. Electrically, t is in great shape. I installed a new and absolutely accurate wiring harness in the dash and also installed a new engine harness. The front and rear lights harnesses are original and in good shape. The AM radio was working and quit, o it will need to be repaired. I acquired this Falcon with the intent of keeping it but am now selling it to fund an addition to my business. If you have any questions, lease call. I am on the West Coast USA so PST, o keep that in mind. 541.510.5296 joe
