After World War II, he Detroit Manufacturers, specially the Big Three, ll took a hard look at 2-seater sports cars as a line of cars for production. Obviously Chevrolet produced the Corvette in 1953 and Ford came out with the Thunderbird in 1955. Neither one of these niche cars set any records for volume of sales.

Along the way, omebody came up with the idea of a sport type car, ut with four seats. In 1958, he boxy Thunderbird was born and caught the other car manufacturers, specially GM and Chrysler, ff guard. It took General Motors almost five years to get their version of a sport type car for the high-end buyer, alled the Riviera. Meanwhile Ford was already into their second generation Ford four-place Thunderbird. The second generation also continued on with fantastic sales.

The car in this eBay auction that we are marketing for the private seller is a second generation, wo-door hardtop. We feel here at MissChiTown that the car is a particularly attractive color and would make an excellent entry-level collector car for anybody wanting to get into the hobby. It is strictly a street restoration that still has a few needs.

The owner that currently has this car had set up the car for a nice street touring car and not as a show car. The engine has been overhauled with a 390 cubic inch that came out of a 1970 Ford Galaxy. The car has less then 1,000 miles on it since the engine was overhauled.

A year ago the private seller decided to paint the car and he said it was a very easy job because the car had no apparent rust and/or dents.

The interior seats were redone with new rubber/foam padding and covers along with new carpet.

Seller also purchased a new trunk kit and headliner.

The car has a new gas tank.

He also found savage hubcaps for the car that are in very nice condition.

The 390 c.i. motor is not original to the car but is the standard size.

The original chrome on the car is in fair condition.

Dual Exhaust.

New radiator core.

Odometer reads 42,578 miles. Less then 1,000 miles since the engine was overhauled.

Items that the seller would like to bring to bidder's attention. The dash is cracked and the rear back window shelf is highly faded per photos. Right taillight should be replaced.
