Description for Ford Other Pickups 1950
Speedometer shows under 27,000 miles and many restorations have speedometers set to zero which I believe to be the case here. I purchased this truck on eBay for my own use and love it but honestly the cabin is just too small for this big guy 6'-2" and (about 260 pounds) I have decided to pass it on to someone who can really appreciate it. I purchased it in Montana and the transaction was handled by a Billings Montana broker. I am assuming it what collectors call a "Widows car" but have not verified that.I was provided a handwritten note saying the engine is a 305 Ford and the frame is a 1963 1/2 Ford 1/2 ton and the rear end is 3.91 ratio and 28 spline. It has power steering and a Grant steering wheel. The truck appears to have been professionally restored and modified. The instruments work except the original gas gauge is inoperative and a after market gas gauge is mounted on the bottom of the dashboard. There is an after market stereo in the glove box with speakers behind the seat but I never turned it on. There are few minor paint chips as is expected from a vehicle with 27,000 miles. The truck is actually 3 tone and very tasteful. The bed is a little lighter than the cab and the trim is a darker brownish color. There are small dents in two of the horizontal grille bars and these are available new either a whole grille or individual bars. The electrical wiring is very neat and all in god shape. The tires are fine and the truck cruises at freeway speeds with lots of power to spare. I would drive this truck anywhere, t gets a lot of attention and everyone loves it. I always hear "My father had one of these" and comments like that. I have not changed the title so I will provide clear Montana title from previous owner plus a bill of sale.
There are questions about the engine, am old school flat head guy and am not sure if it is Chevy or Ford. Feel free to comment if you can tell. I have posted engine pictures also. There is an electronic ignition system also
