The 1959 Ford Galaxie was named the "Most Beautifully Proportioned Car" in the world at the Brussels World Fair. It was a STUNNING body style in 1959 and still is some 56 years later !! We just purchased this BEAUTY from the previous 76 year old Idaho owner who had lovingly owned and meticulously maintained this BEAUTY for the last 39 years !and as you can clearly see in the pictures this was his pride and joy for sure !! He told us that the 56,396 mileson the odometerare the ACTUAL - ORIGINAL miles and he had known the car since it was brand new as he bought the car from the original owner who was his boss / ownerof the wrecking yard he had worked at when he was young. I sayRARE because only 45,868 Sunliner Convertibles were built in 1959 and was the FIRST year of the Galaxie model name, nd they tell me it's the year to have !! This car is a NICE - DRY - SOLID - Idaho high mountain desert - western vehicle and boy doesit show !!I drove this car for several days as my everyday driver to and from the office and running errands as needed and it ran and drove GREAT !! The engine has less than 10K miles on it since it had a "down to the bare block" complete rebuild !! The engine is backed by a SMOOTH - Code "4" - "Cruise-O-Matic" -three speed automatic transmission which also functions very well. The transmission also has less than 10K miles on it since it was completly rebuilt !! Sounds GREAT too with the "throaty" true dual exhaust system with dual chrome tips.
