Description for Ford Thunderbird 1977
1977 Ford Thunderbird Sport Décor Package with only 45,000 original miles.
Up for sale today is my very nice ORIGINAL 77 T-Bird. I have owned this car for a few years and I am the second owner of the car. I purchased the car off of an estate in Oklahoma and the original owner passed away at the age of 96.
The car has always been garage kept and according to the family this car was always babied by the original owner, e never even drove the car in the rain.
I purchased the car and had it shipped to me, replaced the gas tank, uel pump and blew out the fuel lines, hanged the fluids and the car came to life. I next inspected all the brakes and safety equipment and the car was good to go. The tires on the car were the original Firestones when I purchased it and they were not even dry rotted but I had a nail go into one on the way to a cruise night and decided it was time to replace all of the tires. The new tires only have about 500 miles on them.
The car gets driven about 300 to 500 miles per year and that is pretty much for a few cruise nights and car shows that I have attended with it. I have received first place in the original category with the car due to it being so clean.
Condition:
The car is very nice, ook at the photos, ut it is original so not perfect. You can see some scratches, ittle door dings etc. but like I said it is a beautiful car. The chrome is amazing and it does not have any pits anywhere on the car, he vinyl top is like new and the interior is super clean. The paint is original and shines up nice, nly work that I see is the left rear quarter was sprayed at one time (I was told from a shopping cart scratch) and the paint has checked a little bit.
The car has a 351 "W" C in it. I believe that the C stands for Cleveland and from what I have been told is the most desirable of the 351 engines. It runs good and believe it or not still has the original ignition cables on it.....maybe even spark plugs. I did get the carburetor rebuilt by National Carburetor so it runs nice and smooth. The transmission shifts perfect and the car is very quiet going down the road.
All the options on the car work, ower windows, eat, ruise etc. and the A/C works for a short time. It will get cold and then blow warm, f you look under the hood the hoses get all frosty as does the compressor and I was informed that it is probably low on R-12 and needs to be charged or converted. I never bothered with it because I really don't care for A/C. The radio works including the 8 track player but sometimes the FM will not operate correctly. I never really cared and would just put my Sinatra 8 track in and listen to old blue eyes while cruising.
I really don't want to sell this car but could use the room in the garage because I just purchased a car that I always wanted, 1966 Ford Galaxie 500 XL Convertible. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me and if you would like any additional photos please let me know. This is a very nice original car and you really don't see any of the old 70's cars at cruise nights or car shows so be the one to pull in and have everyone look at you.
On Sep-19-15 at 18:57:11 PDT, eller added the following information:I have received some questions regarding shipping the car. If you are going to have the car transported, t your expense, am willing to assist however possible to make the transport smooth. I have had cars transported in the past and know how much of a pain it can be with auto shippers so I am happy to help however possible. I have also received questions regarding the drivability of the car and I would be willing to drive this car anywhere, he car runs smooth and goes down the road straight as an arrow.
If you would like to come and look at the car I am happy to show it to you and allow you to drive it, he car is registered and insured. Like I said previously I am only selling this car because of the Galaxie that I purchased, o other reason, f I had the room I would keep it but I am up to 8 cars in my collection and I need to let this one and one other go for some room in the garage.
I am also going to post my 1983 Ford Mustang GLX Convertible very soon for sale on eBay. The car is a rust free, ed on red interior fox body driver that is super fun with the top down and only has 81K on it. Let me know if you are interested in that one as well and again you can come take it for a drive and inspect it if you are interested.
