This 1959 Ford Thunderbird "Squarebird"was built in Wixom, ichigan on July 20, 959. It is in excellent, riginal condition. The Thunderbird has seldom been driven and the current condition (see below) backs up claims of the 8,904 miles being original.
It is a wonderful example of a factory correct, s-built Thunderbird from 1959. It starts, uns, nd drives exceptionally well and has been maintained by Fox Motorsports. The previous owner replaced knobs, ubber seals, ecals, nd switches (keeping receipts of all).
The original Colonial White paint shows wonderful patina, ith only a few touched-up spots and minor flaws. The chrome/stainless trim is original and in very good condition, ith only minor wear. The front bumper and grill have been rechromed. The T-Bird retains all factory drain holes, ody seams, nd original metal. There is no bodywork or filler and the car has never been repainted (other than the tops of the doors). Electronic paint gauge measurements show consistent 4-6 mil readings over the entire body of the car with the door tops reading 11-12 mils. These readings confirm the lack of filler or bodywork. The original lead seams have also been confirmed.
The interior is extremely nice, ith very little wear and only two minor tears (passenger door panel and rear seat). The underside of the car is original and still maintains inspection marks on the driveshaft. The paper ID/catalog tag is still affixed to the rear differential (done by Ford during original assembly). The engine compartment is extremely clean and detailed. Proper tags, asher bag, ir cleaner, enerator, tarter, nd automatic windshield washer pump are present and all in excellent condition.
