Description for Ford Mustang 1966

Up for sale is a 1966 Shelby Mustang GT 350 convertible tribute car. Originally the mustang was a 289 2 barrel automatic convertible (C code).

This car has:

Reliable 289 engine

New 4 barrel carburetor

C4 automatic transmission

Shelby scoops and emblems

New electronic ignition

Power top

Power steering

Newer interior and new dash

New front tires

Strong full frame

In this description I am going to be brutally honest about the mustang.

The car has a new Holley 4 barrel with less than 500 miles on it.

It is a reliable driver. The engine has plenty of power. It is no supercar but it is strong enough to be fun to drive. The engine and trans were rebuilt in the not-too-distant past.

I put a 160 thermostat in the car and a new 4 row radiator and it runs between 150 and 160 degrees. I like cool running cars. It has a slight hesitation around idle that goes away when the car heats up to 180 degrees when I am in heavy traffic. The new owner may want a hotter thermostat.

I put a 44 series flowmaster muffler on the car and it has given it a nice deep tone that is not too loud. My mechanic said the car has a small exhaust leak tick, ut I don’t think it is noticeable enough to do anything about it.

The mustang drives straight. It does not pull to the right or left and it has no front suspension vibration at any speed that I have noticed.

The brakes work well. I have not done anything to them. The petal is just a little soft exactly how I like it. The new owner may want to adjust the brakes up some.

The top is power and it works well. It seems to be in good shape. It had a small half inch slit on each side of the rear corners that I seamed together, ut my upholstery man said they were supposed to be there, don’t know. I do know the top works great. The rear vinyl window is a little cloudy.

It has new tires on the front that are slightly shorter than the rear. All of the wheels are 15 inch.

The paint is new and shiny but there are a lot of flaws in the paint and body.

The mustang is a reliable driver that has a descent interior and top, nd imperfect paint and body.

The undercarriage is solid. Frame rail extensions have been added that go from the front frame rails to the rear torque boxes. Two nearly-three-hundred-pound men have sat in the front seats and there is no sag or door pinching at all. I am confident that the frame integrity is stronger than the factory unibody. The frame extensions have only added about 60 pounds. The floor pan is solid but the guy that did the work did not cut out all of the rusted pan, o, n some spots there are 2 layers. The undercarriage has been coated in epoxy paint.

The head lights, ail lights, linkers, rake lights, ash bezel lights all work. The bezel lights are a little dim for my liking.

The power steering works well but it has a small leak.

I wanted to give any bidder the chance to view the car Saturday Sept 26 at 2:30 pm at Shoney's restaurant on interstate 40 exit 196. This exit is 10 minutes west of downtown Nashville, n.

It has a clear title in my name. I am selling the car as is. Buyer needs to pay in full within 7 day of auction close. Call me if you have any questions at 6 one 5- 6 one 3- 4 one 66. The reserve is low so bid responsibly.
