Description for Ford Mustang 1966

This is a 1966 Ford Mustang 289 V8 Coupe with about 54. 00 miles. I just picked it up from a friend of mine who collects cars and does some mechanical work on them. The car runs and drives. Engine and transmission was rebuilt in 2001. Hydraulic brake system was rebuilt Based on the records we reviewed (that comes with the car) . can see that there were at least 2 other owners (from 2002 to 2005. and then 2005 to the present). According to the paperwork. the following has been done. September 2nd. 2005:Rebuilt shifter. nbsp;neutral safety switch and adjusted linkage. January 19th. 2007:New master cylinder. left front wheel cylinder. e-brake clip. Set rear brake shows. June 28th. 2007:New value cover gaskets & seals. timing cover gasket. fuel pump. timing chain. water pump. header to exhaust pipe. condenser. distributor cap. ignition rotor. choke stove. new throttle rod. June 24th. 2008:New Starter. brake line. brake hose. radiator. thermostat & gasket. The car was not driving the last few years. but we drove it this past few days. but not far. There seems to be a leak coming from the throttle assembly unit attached to the carburetor. A little amount of gas dribbles out when throttle is engages. I believe it is just the seal that needs replacement. The car is all there. has serious rust spots that will need attention. Please see pictures. Rust is mostly on the doglegs of the front fenders and the rear quarters. as well as the rocker panels are rotten. Engine seems to be running well and appears to not burn oil. Frame seems intact. some surface rust. Car has not been on a lift yet. so this is just from what we can see from an initial inspection. Interior is all there. seems to be original carpet and looks decent. door panels look good. Has front bucket seats. The bottom of the front seat cushions have some serious tears. but the back of the seats look good. as well as the rear seats. The trunk even has the vinyl mat inside. Also car was repainted in 1998. Tires will need to be replaced soon. The car will need some work. but this it the iconic 66 mustang that will be worth a lot by doing some work to it. I have a clean title. Feel free to check it out. From the best of our knowledge engine seems strong and runs good. body needs some rust repairs. It is a beautiful classic car. we just don't have the time to invest in repairs. I'm a clinical social worker and I have always loved cars. however I am not a mechanic. so please check out the car or ask any questions before bidding. I have tried to represent the car as honestly as possible. Serious bidders only. Happy to help with shipping. located right outside of Boston.
