Description for Ford MY 1950
A 1950 ford rat rod with a chopped off top. Mid 1960's pontiac frame and running gear. Car runs and drives good. Needs a hotrod wiring harness. Everything works but wiring is a mess as it come out of some other car. This car is a rat rod in the true sense. It looks to be an older custom job, ot sure how old. We've had the car for several months and it has been driven daily with no problems other than a master cylinder which we replaced. The upholstery looksto be made out ofmexican blankets. The door handles are wrenches. It has an automatic on the floor with a shift rod that is about 3 feet tall with a hand grenade on top for a ball. The gas tank is in the trunk. The body has been welded up where the top was cut as well as the doors and top of windshield. The door handles are shaved. The windshield is plexiglass. The car has what looks to be a fairly new dual exhaust system. I have no idea what grill is in it. The signal lights don't work but the tailights, rake lights, nd headlights work. It has an electric fuel pump and also an electric fan.
We own a body shop and while we haven't done any of the work to the car we can describe what needs to be done. Body panels need to be aligned better. While most of the welding is finished with some bodywork it needs some more done to make it look smooth and unnoticable. However some of the roughness seems to add appeal to the car. We were going to smooth the bodywork out and respray it flat black with a cost of about $2000.00. Butthe customizingwe do may not be what a buyer likes so we decided to not do anything and see if someone else may want the car and do what they like.
Once in a great while a car comes along that you can cut and hack on, ustomize, hatever you want to do without having the guilt of ruining a car to do it. Originality is out the window here. You can do whatever you want. Honestly, would love to get my hands on this one and turn it into something really wild. But...it's my sons investment, he shop is booked till next year in restorations, nd we decided to put it up and see what it does. If it can't bring at least $5000.00 we'll keep it and go wild on it and create to our hearts content. Whoever had the car that done the chopping and welding I can promise you they had 4 or 5 grand in labor in it not including the cost of the 2 cars to make it. The car hasbeen passed around through small towns in Oklahoma and hasn't been found out yet. Here's your chance, nd believe me these opportunities don't come along very often. The car draws a crowd everywhere it goes like it is now. Imagine the possibilities. If you are a good body and paint man or know one, he work on this car is about 80% done. It's one of a kind. Not another one like it in the world. Any questions just ask, lso might consider some trading. Title is clean and ready to drive, ust remember to use hand signals and keep it inside if it rains.
By the way, bay limits the size of pics to 7.0 mb. All the pics of the interior are higher, ave no idea why. Maybe it's the green and black material. We will try to list some over the next few days, therwise let us know and we will send you more pics. Thanks for looking.
