Description for Ford F-250 1978
i bought this truck new in June 1878. I was never going to part with it. preferring to go to my grave still owning the truck. But. times have changed. I don't see myself ever driving it again and now it needs a new home. I have not operated it since 1997. choosing to register it as non-operational. It has been stored in my rental house garage until 2007 (10 years) and has been parked in my driveway for the past 7 years. Less than 300 miles have been put on the truck during this 17 year span. The vehicle does run. In fact. i had it pass smog inspection 2 years ago. after i had a new-in-box Motocraft OE carburetor installed and tuned. I decided to not register at that time so that was kind of a wasted exercise. I reinstalled the original factory type rims but had to buy 4 used "dog dish" style stainless steel hubcaps (all in good shape). I bought the SnugTop shell new in the early 1980s and also installed a rear pass-through window. The radiator was replaced along with new hoses last year. I had the cab (front half of the truck) repainted the original color 2 years ago. This was done due to some surface rust that had to be repaired on the hood and rain gutter areas. The paint was very oxidized as well from sitting outside in the driveway. Back in the early 1980s i had some accent painting done around the body molding and the tailgate "Ford" letters. There have been several fender-bender accidents over the years but nothing major. The interior upholstery is original on the seats with wear on the driver side seat cushion (pictured). I changed the door panels when a 2-tone brown and beige set out of a Ford Ranger or Ford Lariat became available.
