Description for Ford Mustang 1970
Selling a Candy Apple Red Mustang Mach 1. Believed to be original mileage and original drivetrain. It has a very potent 351 Cleveland ("M" Code) with an Offenhauser intake, olley 650 cfm carb, allory electronic distributor and Blaster Coil. Runs very strong. Transmission is an FMX automatic. It has power steering and power brakes. No A/C. We just started seeing a bit of smoke out of the passenger side exhaust. Not sure if is valve seal or ring issue. We have not taken this engine apart. Price has been lowered accordingly.
Car had a full restoration in Florida in the mid 80s and had been in Florida until a few months ago. There was no rust or panel damage but the paint was tired. We sanded it down, ade sure it was straight and gave it a fresh coat of its original color, andy Apple Red Paint.
We installed new stripes, uned the engine, eplaced the mufflers and window seals, idied up the interior (new fold and tumble assembly) and made sure everything was working properly. The clock only works intermittently. There are some scuffs on the door panels and seats. We have the records from the first restoration when it got patch panels in the lower quarters and lower doors and had the floors replaced. We also have the original Bill of Sale from Latham Motors in Latham, Y when the car was bought new on May 12, 970 that confirms it is an original Mach 1. Original radio and rim blow steering wheel. Body Buck Tag is present and confirms it came with the sport slats (rear window louvers) and spoiler. Currently sporting a set ofCragar SS Wheels with BFGs. We have the original Magnum 500 rims that will go with the car.
This is a great running and driving car. This car is not represented as a concourse restoration. It is a high end, river quality, ar that you will not be embarrassed to take to the shows on weekends. It would not take much to take this car to the next level as it is a very solid, riginal and complete car. We do have a Classic Aire air conditioning set-up for this vehicle that can be installed for an additional fee.
Fly in and drive it home. Car is close to Norfolk International Airport (ORF). We can deliver the car within 250 miles for a charge of $0.50 per mile both ways. Or, e will be happy to work with your shipper to get it delivered to you. Send your expert to inspect the car. We will gladly make it available for viewing and inspection. No test drives unless you have at least 100 positive feedback.
This gorgeous Mach 1 can be seen at Bay City Classics, 335 Croft Street, orfolk, A during normal business hours or by appointment after hours and weekends. Bay City Classics is not a Virginia Auto Dealer and is only assisting the owner with the sale.
