Description for Ford Thunderbird 1956
For sale is my 1956 Ford Thunderbird. I purchased it from the original owner that lived in california. It still has the original California plates on it even though I had to retitle it. It wasin storage for the past 20+ years and was last licensed in 1993. It is in excellent condition and runs great. The paint was redone in 1982 but looks like a refresh job due to some paint chips in the paint where it didnt bond as good as it could have. Overall the paint is good and looks good overall. It comes with a removable hard top which is in excellent condition. This was the base model which did not have the port holes but they can be added. The maintenance on the vehicle was meticulous as the records show. I have the complete maintenance records from the day it was purchased. The speedometer shows 33338 miles but it has turned over 100000. The records show the motor was rebuilt in 1976 with 98000 miles. In 1982 the bumpers were rechromed and the paint was refreshed. This was due to a fender bender that happend on the passenger front fender. This is all included in the maintenance/history records. It did pull all of the old carpets in front and in the trunk to look for rust and replaced all of the carpets with new ones. Nothing but surface rust was found. I also found some surface rust under the seat belt brackets and I cleaned and stablized that when I put the new carpets in. I also repaired the Tachometer, peedometer and put in a new fuel sending unit. This is an excellent daily driver or an easy restore to level 1 restoration. Everything is original. No modification have been made. Still has bias ply tires on it. I would rate this car as a high level 3 on Hagertys scale for classic cars. With a good paint job including the engine compartment, t would be a high level 2 with no problem.
