1973 Ford Pinto Coupe in Original Unmolested Condition showing 43,593 miles offered by Gas Monkey Garage with . ! Ford President Lee Iacocca wanted a 1971 model that weighed less than 2,000 pounds and that would be priced at less than $2,000. A team of stylists at Ford was assigned to design the Pinto's exterior and interior instead of using the European Ford Escort. And so the Pinto was born in the USA!With over 3 million sold over a 10-year production run, he Pinto handily out produced its domestic rivals, he Chevy Vega and the AMC Gremlin! This is the Pinto you’ve seen on the show and in our parking lot for some time now and with our filming schedule we just couldn’t ever decide what to do with it. After all it is pretty solid with minor rust perforation in the body that should be easily repaired (see all pics), he 2,000cc engine and 4 spd manual transmission runs and drives as it should (however, t should be completely serviced prior to any extended driving to ensure safety and reliability and due to our filming schedule we cannot perform any additional work or service on this vehicle-SOLD AS IS/WHERE IS!) The exterior shows well with minor nicks and chips, ost of the trim is present and in good, sable condition. The interior is also fairly complete and unmolested with some cracks in the dash and torn seat covers showing its age and would benefit from some TLC! Underside pics reveal a fairly solid chassis with superficial rust present on most components (see all pics)!).
