Description for Ford Mustang 1968
1968 GT/CS
This numbers matching S Code 4 speed is not only rare, t has a very interesting history to go with it!
Why is it rare? Ford only produced 111 GT California Specials with the S code(390 CID) 4 speed drive train and this is the only car that was produced in the Brittany Blue color. ( Please see the Marti report)
What history? In 1995 this car was involved in a domestic dispute that culminated in a very jealous husband using this car as target practice. (fortunately no one was in the car at the time!) It was reported that over 100 shots were fired.
Rather than try to patch all of the bullet holes, he panels were replaced with NOS sheet metal and donor car parts. The rear 1/4 panels, ear valance, ail light panel and inner fenders are NOS panels replaced correctly. The doors, enders, lass (windshield is new) and hood are from a donor car. There was NEVER any rust present, o theGT/CS retains its original floors, rame rails, orque boxes, illars, oof, hock towers and inner superstructure. The original fiberglass deck and rear tail light panel are on the car. While most of the bullet holes are now long gone, few were left in the inner panels and the original side scoop with the 5 bullet holes in it is included with the car!

The original 390 GT short block was bored 0.030" over with a mild street cam and professionally built and professionally balanced with all new internals.
The long block was assembled using 1967 GT S code heads, ntake, exhaust manifolds, ir cleaner along with all new pumps, oses, lternator, attery, tc. All new fuel lines from the new gas tank to the new fuel pump feed the 650 CFM Holley Street Avenger.
The original toploader was completely rebuilt and detailed as was the original ford shifter. Even the reverse light switch works!
The original 9 inch rear-end was also completely rebuilt and detailed. The original 3.25:1 gear set was upgraded to a new 3.50:1 set.
The front suspension and steering components are all new or restored. The front and rear brakes and brake lines are all new from the vacuum booster to the slave cylinders.
Custom subframe connectors and Traction Master under rider bars were added to help tame the big block's torque and prevent wheel hop.
The interior is awesome! It smells and looks like you are opening the door in the ford dealers show room in 1968! The bright work, aint, pholstery and finish are all topnotch. Even the front and rear seat frames have been powder coated!
All of the gauges, ights, eating and electrical systems work as they should. The radio is a nice aftermarket unit with the ability to hook in an IPOD or other similar device-The original AM radio is available if desired.
This GT California Special looks amazing with its base/clearcoat Brittany Blue paint and new black vinyl roof! The GT/CS rides on a set of vintage shelby 10 spokes wrapped with new Cooper Cobra 215/70/15's radial tires.
