1926 Model TT Truck - Rare Muncie Overdrive!
This incredibly well preserved truck has sat for decades waiting for restoration, ost recently in Montana which undoubtedly contributed to its survival. Everywhere you look on this old Ford you appreciate how original it is: the fabric-covered wiring harness, he original roof wood slats (preserved thanks to a later metal cover), he heavy timbers for the flatbed, he original windshield glass. Even some of the 1926 upholstery is still there! This truck is complete and would make for an easy restoration: there's very little rust (see photos), lmost all the metal is flat-panel, he drivetrain is complete, nd all parts you'll need are reproduced and inexpensive. In fact, ven by Model T standards, hese trucks are especially easy since there's so little body, pholstery, nd trim. Basically, ake it apart, and blast and repair, pray it black and build a new wooden bed, nd you're practically done.
Body: body is in overall good shape, specially the cab, ith points of rust as shown in photos. I'd replace the front end sheetmetal since reproductions are so inexpensive. Includes quite a number of often-missing parts such as the gas tank, oth doors, indshield frames, orrect large-diameter ammeter, tc.
Frame: solid and straight.
Motor: turns over freely, aven't attempted to start it. Appears complete except for coils. Carb is loose but included.
Tranny: this truck is valuable not only in the fact that it has a complete 1927/27 motor, ut also that it comes with a rare vintage Muncie sliding-gear transmission, odel T5-158. According to what I can find on the web, his is probably the best all-around Model T accessory since it offers an overdrive, n underdrive, everse and direct drives. Conclusion: I bought this truck as part of a group of vehicles that had been sitting on a guy's rural property, o I can't say much more about it. Please do your homework before bidding. I've done my best do describe it fairly and accurately, ncluding its flaws, nd with many photos. All potential bidders are welcome and encouraged to come see the truck in person. It is sold "as-is" and "where-is" and absolutely no warranties are made concerning it or its condition, ither expressed or implied. Truck is located in Belgrade, T (near Bozeman) and buyer is responsible for all transportation arrangements. Truck will need to be winched onto a trailer.
