Description for Ford Thunderbird 1991
1991 Thunderbird sc. very rare car with a 5 speed transmission. The car has not run in 2 years because the brake pedal was hard as a rock on day and from past experiences I suspect a bad brake booster. I went to repair the car myself and when I had the brake booster pulled out it was unlike any brake booster I had ever seen (see photo). I brought it to a few part stores Napa. advance. autozone all said they do not have the part and could not get it. I was able to find that O'rileys had a rebuilt one for a thousand dollars. needles to say I put the car on the back burner after that. I have had the car for a long time and have seen the parts sell on ebay for a lot. The entire car is original and ran really good before the brake pedal got rock hard. I'm not sure if the entire brake booster is bad and it can probably be repaired but I just don't have the time to work with it. The car is in overall good condition for being 24 years old and there is a big following for these cars. I was going to part the car out but thought it would be a shame because the body is completely strait and most of the parts work perfectly. The parts are very hard to find and probably worth more than double what I'm asking for. The super charger alone sells for 300 on ebay. the front bumper cover is an original "SC" which have not been produced since the early 1990's and have seen them sell for 300 to 400. The brake booster broken is probably worth 100 and the wheels and tires 150-200. The transmission is very rare and easily worth 400 to 500. There are a lot of great parts and would make an excellent donor car or with some work it could be restored. The title is clear and am happy to answer any question you may have. 904-524-3820 RogerOn Dec-24-14 at 18:42:33 PST. seller added the following information:I forgot a few things about the car and want to disclose everything. I purchased the car in 2007 for 5. 00 and the odometer had already stopped working at 112. 00 miles. The guy I bought it from estimated it had 125. 00 miles and said the odometer stopped working in 2005. I generously estimated 170. 00 but I know its not that many. I wanted to list more miles as oppose to less. I did cut off the mufflers several years ago to give it a throaty sound. You cant hear it at idle and makes a little rumble but not obnoxiously loud. I tried to start the car and it will turn over and wants to fire off but I can't get it to. It's probably bad fuel. I added 2 fresh gallons and need to flush the tank and lines and I'm sure it will fire up. I did paint the interior dash. console. and steering wheel. it turned out really well but the steering wheel needs to be touched up. the stereo is an aftermarket with satellite radio installed by the previous owner. Last time I drove the car everything worked including the air conditioning. The only thing that didn't work was the electronic antenna. it would only go halfway down as in the pictures. That is everything I can think of at the moment and currently have the battery on a trickle charge to test everything I can tomorrow and will update again.
