She has had the same owner for 43 years -- wow, ruly rare to find that. You can see in the many photos we took of this Mustang the odometer shows 74,141 miles - mileage is the actual original miles on this vehicle according to the owner we are helping. This Mustang was bought new on March 21st, 972 in New Hampshire and comes with the original title from Lewis Ford in Colebrook New Hampshire. It was up north, araged kept most of its life, hen it was under a car port in Florida, and over the last three years has been just covered outdoors. It has original mag-wheel type hub caps and also additional set of caps (see photos). Sadly the husband passed away three years ago, his Mach 1 has just sat parked since then. parts motorcraft. 1971 was last year for the autolite parts. From the Mach 1 Club ... We do know no power steering or brakes or AC, as manual drum brakes. Add in the high demand classic fastback styling of this Mach 1, high belt line and long hood and you could spot it's heritage a block away. To further enhance the look, ou have a honeycomb sport lamp grill equipped with amber sport lights and the factory hood decorated in matte black and featured two individual ducts to bring fresh air into the motor. Hood scoops serve air in function and look sharp! This Mustang may have possibilities as a restoration, he would require a lot to be done in that case. Could possibly make a good around town driver. We found the combination of the drive train in this Mach 1 makes this Mustang a sought after collectable classic. If you are just thinking of this Mustang as a driver, he interior is in ok shape, eeds interior and exterior cleaning and detail for certain and we believe likely light mechanical work under the hood and a good safety check (see condition notes below). We are not in any way experts, e are listing information we found in our research -- so you need to be the judge from what you see in the photos and videos. All glass is good. This Mustang body you can see has some minor dents, aded and flat paint, urface rust and spots where we found where it is rusted through. Floors and trunk and under hood have surface rust, eem solid, ut also have rust we in other places, nd some rust through. Again, it has original air breathing hood on it. This Mustang has the original front buckets and console and front and rear seat belts. It has a light-duty tow-hitch where somewhere in the past at one time it towed a small utility motorcycle trailer. Front urethane bumper has some cracks, ear deck-lid rust. Has original factory gauge package which includes factory tachometer, emperature, il and alternator gauge and a 120 mph speedo. Back in the 70s this was a big thing. There is an in-dash after market 8 track tape player still in car, not sure if it works. Car has not been run or driven in 3 years, nder carriage needs work. You will be able to be on time as the original factory clock works. We did crank and start this Mustang numerous times, ounds good, ut it quickly stalls out (see videos - fuel starved, ikely fuel pump, ilter, flush needed). See info in condition notes below. Over all for 43 years old in pretty fair shape, ged as she is should be completely inspected and any repairs needed completed before driving. MACH 1 V8 CJ DRIVETRAIN MORE CONDITION PHOTOS IN GALLERY | CONDITION NOTES: 43 Year Old Mustang Mach 1 One Owner Interior: Make sure to see all the interior photos, t has the original interior. Black vinyl bucket seats, oor panels, eadliner (has small hole), ash (has crack), arpets, enter console, isors, verything is believed to be for the most part all original. We knocked around in the floor area (did not removed carpet) and it sounded solid, ut as with other areas of this Mustang, nly a more through floor plan exam would tell condition. To be a show car, this Mustang in need of allot of work to restore it to top condition. Window cranks, indows and door handles work. Exterior: Make sure to see all exterior photos under the hood and truck photos. Glass, heels, heel covers, ody panels, ost seem in ok condition, but there is some rust on exterior, oors, ocker panels and undercarriage. We tapped around in the trunk area, eemed solid, ut it does have rust on areas of the trunk floor (see photos). It has been repainted once and we do see where there has been some rust repairs before. This vehicle can be just a driver or restored with allot of work. It has a highly sought after original Q Code 351C (CJ) 4bbl with 4-speed transmission drive train combination, ll parts on it intact. Mechanically: Headlights work, indshield wipers and horn works, tail lights work, urn signals and brake lights with four-way flashers working in the back (turn signals do not flash in the front - see videos). Has the original 351C (CJ) 4V 4bbl performance engine and 4 speed manual shift transmission. As you can see in the video we did get this Mustang to start, e put in a battery from our car for testing, it easily fired right up, ut it would not stay running as it seems to be starved for fuel. No knocking pinging or smoke was seen. Several mechanics we had look at this Mustang believe it needs a fuel pump and the fuel system complete flush / cleaned. That is normal when any vehicle sits for long periods. It does have a newer fuel tank we noted. The gas tank was replaced a while back, but again, his vehicle has sat without being started for three years. It was amazing how she fired right up with a little gas down the carb. Original owner started it regularly his wife reports till three years ago, t did start, un and it drove out good.
On our review the shifter seemed to shift fine, lutch pedal felt good, hen it briefly started as you can see in the videos, ith it in gear when starting it did go to move forward and backward, hich indicates the clutch works. We did not go into any repairs as next owner can do what they wish. The tires have really good tread on them, ot sure of their age, hey do not appear to be dry rotted from what we could see - they're on chrome steel wheels that appear in pretty good shape. Has a spare. We have the vehicle on jack stands to get underneath to look at it as you can see in the photos. It was tight spaces, e were limited to see in the photos of the undercarriage / chassis we took, ook at all the pictures in this ad and the gallery. As we were only able to get it up a foot or so off the ground so we were not able to get larger area photo shots. The exhaust system outside seemed to be in ok condition. IMPORTANT NOTE: You can hear it start and run and stall in the videos -- we make no guarantee mechanically as this vehicle is being sold "as is". In our opinion, t could be a great antique to work on over time as a hobby and make it back into a collectable of high value again but we are not experts.
