Description for Ford F-100 1956
This is a 1956 Ford pickup truck that I bought out of Arizona 2 years ago. I have the title that shows the previous owner bought it in 1961 in Glendale Arizona and then the guy I bought it from bought it in 1980 and he also lives in Arizona. This is an extremely solid rust free Arizona truck.
When I bought the truck I took it all apart and had the frame and complete body media blasted to bare steel. All that I can remember having rust is one spot in the floor on the drivers side that we butt welded together. The bottom of the doors look awesome as does the rest of the sheet metal. The complete truck was then body worked, nd then epoxy primed. It still needs to have poly put on there and blocked out and then it needs a coat of primer and sealer and then it will be ready to paint. I have the rust free tail gate but it is dented pretty good not really worth fixing. Also the running boards have been media blasted and primed but they also would be hard to repair but it could be done. The doors, enders both front and rear and the hood are all steel and in excellent condition.
I don't have the old engine and transmission but I have most of the other parts that will go with the truck if you want, don't know if I can find the glass most of that was cracked. I bought brand new take out leather seats with a center console for the truck in a tan leather as you can see in the pictures. The one seat had been sitting out for awhile so the wrinkles from the packaging came out but as you can see on the other two pieces they still have wrinkles in the leather from the packaging.
The rear end is an 8 inch Ford Mustang with a four link set up and the frame was boxed out in that area. I have a tranny cross member for an automatic FMX Mustang I was going to put in there. I also had a fabrication shop put in motor mounts that will fit most small block fords such as a 351C, 51W, 02 and 289. We also put in tubular control arms, ropped spindles, S rack and pinion and front disc brakes. This has all been professionally installed. This front end is commonly known as a Mustang II front end and looks very nice.
Not included in the bid but I will sell to the winner bidder is an FMX automatic transmission I spent 2,300 dollars to have it rebuilt. I also have a Mustang 302 that the block has been rebuilt and the heads have been machined but not installed. The reason I am not selling these with the truck is because most people will have their own idea of what they want to use in the truck for the drive train. I have about 4,500 into these two items and the winning bidder can buy them for 2,000 if they so desire.
I own Kevins Klassic Cars in Cannon Falls Mn look that up in Google and you will see the quality of the cars that we do. This truck is nice but still has a lot of work to get it done. We don't have a paint opening until May of 2016 but if the winner wants my shop to paint it after the truck is paid for I will store it inside free of charge and we will paint the frame, ody, nterior, ottom of the truck and outside of the truck for 18K plus any parts it needs. You wont find a nicer truck then this to start as a project and basically you have an open canvass to do as you please on here all we have done so far is the body work, nterior seats and suspension.
I have pictured in there a clear Arizona title. I live in Rosemount Mn and I will deliver the car after it is paid for up to 1,000 miles for .60 cents a mile so if I go 1,000 miles that is 600 to get there and 600 to get home. My truck and trailer gets 7 miles per gallon plus a hotel room I would make about 12 dollars an hour drive time Im not getting rich on that. Please feel free to give me a call if you have any questions or feel free to come and visit our shop in Cannon Falls Mn. Thanks Kevin Manley. 612-275-8722
On Nov-29-15 at 06:09:03 PST, eller added the following information:Good morning I really appreciate all the bidding and interest on my truck I just cant believe everyone that is watching it. Just to give you an idea what I have spent on the truck it cost me 3,500 dollars just to buy the suspension and brakes on the truck and then another couple of thousand just to have them all professionally installed. In addition it was 1,500 to have the truck media blasted and then another 5,000 or so to have it body worked and primed and that is my cost, own the restoration shop. Then by the time I bought it in Arizona and had it shipped back here I am into the truck well over 15K. Obviously I expect to lose money on the truck and it goes to the high bidder but at this point it has just barely went over the cost of just the upgraded suspension. This is not like some hack do it yourself owner, own a restoration shop and we take vehicles to Barrett-Jackson all the time as you can see if you google Kevins Klassic Cars. There is still a ton of work to do on thetruck but if you bought a rust free truck in Arizona that was in good shape and then you got it to this point unless you own a body shop like I do you would be into the truck at 20K by now.
Im not trying to get greedy on the truck and again it goes to the high bidder but I think the truck should be worth minimum all day long 10K which is about half price to get it to this point if you bought one yourself and started along these lines. Many times I hate to buy a project that is started on because you basically have to do it all over because they were amateurs, ut in this case everything was done properly and you can just take it from this point forward. Don't get me wrong there is still a lot of work just like in all restorations but the work that is done is professional and not a hack job and you can just go forward from here. If anyone wants more pictures or you have any questions please feel free to call me anytime. I know you will be happy with this truck and a 56 Ford is a very popular and nice year truck. I wish I had the time to finish it up but I have about 8 projects and I can only work on my projects so much because I have to keep the money flowing through the shop. Thanks again and I hope to hear from some of you. Kevin Manley. 612-275-8722
