Ford 1/2-ton Pickup Truck
The 1938 model year pickup truck featured the first totally new cab since 1935. The new front end, eaturing an oval grill, as a pioneering design that featured the first conventional front-opening truck hood in the industry. The truck also featured a modernized instrument panel and a completely re-designed pickup bed, he first since 1931.
The engine and transmission are matching, hat same number is the same as the one on the firewall.
Not every collector and not every collection has a pickup truck. If there was going to be only one pickup truck that a collector would want to have, his 1938 Ford pickup truck could certainly be a top contender. Just listen to the high points of this particular truck.

This particular truck sports its original 221 c.i. 85 hp engine and 3-speed manual transmission with matching numbers.
Spare tire and even has the original Ford factory lock for the spare tire.
Locking steering wheel the way it came from the factory.
Most pickups were often painted black but Ford did offer this Vineyard Green and this is the color that the car was born with and was repainted in the original color when it was restored.
The truck retains its original wheels and during the restoration all five wheels were powder coated.

The private seller tells us that he started off with a very decent pickup truck for his restoration project that took five years. It was a every nut and bolt restoration and everything about it is fresh. The bed of truck has been upgraded from a steel bed to a wooden bed that has been finished to look like furniture quality. The wooden frame and moldings on the wood bed are all new (check out the photos!) The interior has been redone in the original style green art-leather.
The electrical system is all working fine and it has the original windshield wiper setup along with a side view mirror.
The owner states that it his belief that the 88,215 miles are original.
The owner tells that he has driven as far as fifty miles in one direction and it has always performed flawlessly.
Top all of this off that in 2012 this truck was selected for the Snap On Calendar. Yes that is quite a prestigious accomplishment as only twelve cars a year are picked by Snap On to be on their calendar.
