Replica/Kit Makes :1959 FORD ROADSTER STAINLESS STEEL resembles Mercedes Benz

This vehicle was purchased from the estate of a 96 year old professional mechanic/craftsman/designer/custom car builder and lifelong Harley motorcycle enthusiast. He started this project in 1965, sing a late 1950's Ford running gear, ith the engine set back 2 ½ feet for easy maneuverability. He was a true lover of the classics, nd was never satisfied with mediocrity. Therefore, e hand shaped this stainless-steel bodied vehicle, o pay tribute to the 1928 Mercedes SSK and the modern day Brooks Stevens designed Excaliber, omplete with original stainless steel header pipes. It is equipped with a 351 Cleveland engine for ease of starting, mooth running, eliability and that great V-8 sound. It has a 3 speed floor shifter automatic transmission with a positraction rear end. To aid in stopping, t has dual reservoir power brakes that stop easy, rue, nd on a dime! The car is built with 4 chrome headlights, of which turn with the wheels to illuminate the road.

Aside from the meticulously polished, and formed stainless steel body, he car is adorned with a copper hood and side hood aprons, old finished fenders complete with rolled, urved stainless steel fender mounts, rue spoke wire wheels with spinner hubcaps, nd Goodyear polyester whitewall tires on all 4 corners with the spare frenched into the rear deck. It features curved stainless steel bumpers, ith matching exhaust heat shields at each door.

The custom chocolate leather bench seat which tilts forward for easy access to the trunk/storage compartment is complemented by the period 1950's black "Turnpike" carpet with gold threading, hich coordinates with the black cloth convertible top with real glass rear window. The door cards are covered in leather and trimmed at the bottom with Turnpike carpeting, nd include a storage pocket in the passenger side kick panel. There is a 0 degree custom wood steering wheel, oor latches with Smith and Wesson handles, nd a genuine mahogany wood dash with a very clean Stewart-Warner gauge display. Custom made chrome trimmed wing windows and chrome mirrors complete the look.

Much has been said and many adjectives have been used to describe cars, uilders and finished projects in car ads over the years. The quality of the workmanship and the skill exhibited in the forming and welding of the stainless steel body is truly beyond compare, nd must be seen to be appreciated. Don't let this one get away!
