Here is a very original 1972 Gran Torino Sport Fastback with just over 68k original miles. It still retains its original matching # engine (vin stamped in back of block), riginal paint and interior. It has a 351W (yes you could get a 351W in 1972), C6 automatic, port Cloth interior, ower steering, ower disc brakes, ear deck speakers, inted glass and rare factory rear window defrost. It was the proverbial little old man's car that still retains the 2bbl carb, ingle exhaust, M radio and whitewall tires with original wheels, ings and caps.. It runs and drives very nicely as you would expect. Documented 2 owners before me with all original documents like window sticker, arranty card, anuals, nvoice etc. Purchased new at Bellevue Ford about 15 miles from where it is now. First owner had it until 1996 and put about 48k miles on it. He kept it garaged the whole time. Next owner drove it semi regularly until around 2005 and it mostly sat in a carport after that. There are a few receipts showing mileage from the 80's up to early 2000's.

The body is very solid and original with no rust out, ccident repairs or previous rust repairs. The paint is original, till shines and is very presentable but has chips, cratches and dings. Body panels line up very nicely and the doors open and close like new. Quarters, oors, runk, loors and frame are all very solid with no apparent rust. The left rear quarter is dented at the very back where the bumper pushed into it a little bit. A few dings in the left front fender near the marker light, very shallow dent in the right front fender and a ding in the passenger door. Much of this could easily be fixed by a good paintless dent guy. All glass is good. Front Front bumper is nice, ear bumper has a very slight tweak to it that is really only noticeable if you look at it from above. Trim across the trunk is very nice. Side trim and wheel well trim is overall nice with a few dings. Grill is very nice with original emblem intact. Grill surround trim has a ding near the center. Still retains the original wheels with sport trim rings and caps that are in nice shape. Tires have good tread but are pretty old and should be replaced.

Very nice original Sport Cloth interior is black with the white/black cloth inserts.. Upholstery is in excellent condition with no splits or tears and is very clean. Dash pad is excellent and the gauges, ncluding chrome around them is very good. Carpet looks original and is in very good shape. Door panels are very nice with no fading or crumbling. Even the arm rest pads are in nice shape. Headliner looks like new, assenger sunvisor is sagging a bit.. There are a couple small holes in the rear package tray, ust needs to be covered with some nice black fabric..

The car starts, uns and drives good. The engine has no smoke or noise, tarts right up and runs on the choke as it should. It has good power and sounds good. Transmission works well through all the gears. Suspension and steering are tight with no squeaks. The paint on the engine is even all original with factory stamping decals, tc other than the air cleaner lid which has been repainted. Brakes work well and the car stops straight. The turn signals, auges, ipers, M radio and heater all work. Heater controls move freely. Even the reverse lights still work and the factory rear defroster still works which is the type with the wires running through the glass like a modern car.

This is a rare opportunity to get yourself a desirable 72 Gran Torino Sport Fastback that is about as original as they come. It would make a great driver as is or you could do minimal bodywork and paint it to bring it to the next level.
