Description for Ford Mustang 1965
Beautiful Shelby Tribute Mustang Fastback for sale.
This Power Brake, ower Steering 1965 Mustang was professionally built and completed in 2007.
The body started life out as a Raven Black, code Fastback with automatic transmission and standard interior. Many body panels were replaced during the build with a minimum of body filler being used. I have photos of some of the steps taken during the build process. The car is painted with "Screaming Yellow", 2005 Mustang color. The black stripes are correctly proportioned according to Shelby specifications and were clear coated over with the rest of the paint. Shelby type front fiberglass fascia, ide scoops, iberglass hood and racing windows replacing the vents give the Mustang a Shelby GT-350 appearance. The underside of the car is painted gloss "Screaming Yellow" with black accents. The 17 inch wheels are Black Center American Racing Torque Thrust and were added to the car in 2012. "Cal Track" traction bars are welded on.
The interior is the stock Mustang black interior with dash mounted Shelby style "Pod" that houses the Tachometer and Oil Pressure gauge. There is also aremovable after market center console with cup holders. The rear seat is the fold down type with a pass through to the trunk. Retro under dash Air Conditioning made by Southern Air / Hot Rod was installed in 2012. It cools off the interior very quickly. A dash mounted "Heads Up Display" GPS speedometer shows the speed you are driving on the windshield. The entire interior floor including the trunk has been insulated with a "Dynamat" type insulation.
This awesome drive train was professionally built. Starting with a cast iron 302 cid block, hey built a 347 cid Stroker motor. A Scat 302 Ford Crank Shaft and "I" Beam Rod set with Ford Flat Top Pistons were added. The Aluminum Heads are GT 40 heads, umber SVO Y302 with 64CC combustion chambers. Pedestal Mount Aluminum Roller Rockers top off the heads. The camshaft is a solid lifter Comp Cams CL31-334-4 Magnum Mechanical Flat Tappet Cam and Lifter Kit. The intake is an Edelbrock Aluminum manifold topped with a Holley Avenger Series 670 cfm Square Bore Carb. The engine is estimated to be over 400 horsepower. Alternator is a small body 3G 110 amp model. Cooling is handled by an aluminum radiator and shroud with a 16" thermostatically controlled electric fan. Runs at a 180 - 190 degrees even on hot days. A remote Oil Cooler also aids the cooling. A Vacuum Reservoir was installed for the power brake system due to the low vacuum level provided by the high lift cam.
The 5 speed manual transmission is a 1990 Ford World Class T-5 rebuilt with all new bearings and gears to handle the high horsepower. Clutch is a 10 inch Hays Performance Series. The differential is a Ford 9 inch with a 3.90:1 gear ratio.
