We just completed a 40+ mile road trip through traffic and it performed perfectly. Never once did it overheat. stall or miss a step. The heater. wipers. lights and even the 8-track radio functioned well. The steering is crisp and responsive with just the right amount of assist. The brakes stop quickly and confidently. This is an easy car to get in and cruise! This convertible has been driven. As such there are small touch ups and rock chips. If you are after a perfect car. get out another $20k. If you want a great looking. no guilt driver this is it. The chrome & bright trim show well and the paint really shines well. It is no wonder why Acapulco Blue is one of the most popular of colors. The body itself is nice & solid. The only obvious panel repairs are on the passenger side floor pans which were done with restoration repair panels. The rest of the panels appear to be original and in good condition. The white convertible top fits well and the hydraulics function perfectly. The interior looks great with new scuff plates. door panels. instrument bezel & lenses as well as the rest of the dash bezels. The carpet & seat upholstery were replaced some time ago but still present well. There is one small separation on the drivers bucket seat top. The 8-track AM radio still works. it is a fun look back at a bygone era of audio systems. That 8-track is housed in the rare floor console with a functioning roll up door. The doors have the finned aluminum trim panels normally specific to a full deluxe interior. Easily nice enough for weekend cruizing or show n shines. Under the hood the 289 has been nicely detailed in its factory configuration. Reproduction decals and fasteners were used. The 289 still runs excellent and provides nice power. The power steering and power disc brakes are very desirable options that make driving this car truly enjoyable. The air conditioning system will need to be serviced with a new idler pulley and a charge. An expensive new dryer and condensor were just added.
