Description for Ford F-100 1962
"mona" is for sale. I am the second owner and have had this truck for over 40 years. It was my hang gliding vehicle for 30 years.
I have put over 220k on the truck and aprox. 12,000 on the current 390ci. engine and transmission and two speed transfer case.Rebuilt front and rear differentials, ew u joints, rive shafts, hocks, eaf springs, axles and bearings. She has been completely restored including: Disc brakes with double diaphragm booster, A very competent engine builder in Pasadena built my engine sparing no expense or cut corners withmagnaflux, inebore, luminum intake manifold, Headers, and all new exhaust,a Holley double pumper, SD electronic ignition, 428 oil pump, ew water pump, pgraded high output alternator, tc.New radiator and hoses, engine mounts,New interior, ubber, indshield, indow crank registers, ranks, nobs, headliner, eupholstered seat and door coverings, floorliner and mats. window felt, indwing locks, CD player, ioneer speakers, A $9,500. interior and exterior paint job. Linex bedliner, with stainless runners. Rack it powdercoated lumber rack, Tommy lift gate. Ramsey winch, new wheels and tires, sliding rear window. She has Vintage Air and heat. Grover air horns off of a fire truck with compressor and air accumulator tank (as seen in underhood photos). All new chrome badges and emblems, headlight doors and lettering. Custom 3rd brake light on liftgate. I'm sure there is much more to list.
You may be wondering why I would even consider selling Mona after so much service and all these years? I'm a retired special effects technician and have used the truck on many movies and commercials. I've moved to the beach now and have no garage for her. She currently resides in a portable garage in my backyard and I have too many vehicles. I have a current technology F250 for my contracting business and as I get older, just don't want to maintain her to the level that she deserves any longer so I am willing to make a huge sacrifice and inspite of my over 38k in this current several year restoration, this is a no reserve auction and she will go to the highest, uckiest bidder. basically my starting price is my reserve and that would be a steal!
She runs and stopsvery well. Better than stock.and works perfectly with the exception of the self canceling turn indicator switch which is available through Dennis Carpenter Industries. She is not without small imperfections in the paint with small chips or scratches. After all this is NOT a "show truck". just a very, ery, lean everyday work truck, ot a freeway flyer and she should go to someone like myself who will love and care for this desirable, ollectable gem of a truck. I cannot go the lumber yard or Home Depot without a lengthy discussion of how awesome this truck is. As much as it is time to part with her, he will be missed.
Anyone interested in this one of a kind, tock yet custom gem Please call me with any questions and if you have the time come and we'll take her out for a drive. I'm Bill at 818 317 6625, Capistrano Beach. Good luck collectors and enthusiasts. This is one cool truck!
