Description for Ford F-100 1972

Ford fans, ever fear, e have great old pickups for you as well. Perhaps they worked harder than their Chevy counterparts, r perhaps fewer were built, ut it seems that there are not nearly as many early-70s Fords. Fortunately, e have found this one, hich is a nicely finished '72 F-100 4x4 that's a tough truck, eady to be driven anywhere.I don't know about you, ut that two-tone green and white paint job has the right look for the period and it works really well on the truck's neatly creased sheetmetal. Still showing some of the '60s detailing but a forward look that would stay with Ford for a generation, his '72 is a neat example of the evolution of the pickup truck. It's been repainted, ut the combination of Wimbledon White over Seapine Green is correct according to the door tag. It's got a nice shine that looks pretty darn good going down the road. Also note the embossed spear that runs from nose to tail on each side, he molded-in fender flares and rocker panel accents, nd the oversized mirrors that are great for pulling a trailer and give it an old-school heavy-duty look. The chrome bumpers are in good overall condition, he stainless has been properly maintained, nd a spray-in bedliner means that this long-bed hauler is still ready to do some work when it's needed. The green interior with cloth and vinyl upholstery doesn't stray too far from this truck's working-class roots, nd that's OK. That replacement seat cover is actually made from material borrowed from an Army tent (how cool of an idea was that?) and it works well with the painted interior and simple door panels. The rest is pretty original and stock, ncluding the instrument panel that shows a full array of gauges and a little bit of fading due to age. A new AM/FM/cassette stereo was installed in the original radio's slot, nd there are camouflage floor mats that make a fun statement inside. The transmission is a 4-speed manual, o it's a lot of fun to drive on or off road, nd the lever next to it controls the 2-speed transfer case so you really can go just about anywhere with it. There's also a later 3-spoke steering wheel, ut it blends in pretty well and doesn't detract from the very original look. Overall, he truck retains its OEM flavor, ut the comfort and convenience items make it a pleasure to drive. The engine is a burly 390 cubic inch V8, nd the engine bay looks pretty original except for the engine itself, hich wears new Ford Blue paint. There are a lot of new components that help with both performance and reliability, ncluding an Edelbrock carburetor and matching aluminum intake manifold, lus tune-up parts like the plug wires, oil, nd distributor cap. A tall chrome air cleaner gives it a sporty look that's right on a big block like this and a dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers sounds suitably powerful. The aforementioned 4-speed and transfer case power a set of heavy-duty axles, ncluding a 9-inch out back, o you don't have to worry about breakage. The chassis is in good condition and showing no signs of life in an adverse climate, nd with the three-inch lift kit, t does look heavy-duty enough for anything. Bright polished aluminum wheels certainly help, s do those giant 33x12.50-15 off-road tires that really set it off.Old trucks are red hot, ffering V8 power and practicality you can't get anywhere else. Few offer the combination of handsome good looks and 4X4 go-anywhere capabilities this Ford provides, aking it a great choice for your garage. Call today!
