Description for Ford Mustang 1968

This great mustang convertible is for sale in “as-is” condition OR we can repair it to any level that you wish all the way up to a complete restoration OR CUSTOM 1 of a kind Shelby tribute. clone or look alike. a. k. a. FAKE SHELBY. What do you want? What is your overall budget? The restoration of this vehicle would take 90 to 120 days. just depending on how extreme you want it done. We have been building Mustangs for over 30 years and they are nothing new to us. We produce a damn fine car. even if I have a slight biased opinion. We also give UP FRONT TOTAL COST PRICING!!! Call O. C. or Scott 361-331-3322 Now on to the car. This is a built for Mexico 1968 Mustang. yes that’s right I said 68. If you know your Mustangs you know that the seats. dash. steering wheel . exterior lights etc are different than that of a 1967. You would be correct. BUT in Mexico Ford did not have to change a thing and they just kept building them till they ran out of 67 parts. It has the vin numbers on the fender aprons and NOT inside on the right side of the dash. All 3 numbers match without question. It seems weird to me too but this car came from the Texas Rio Grand Valley and why should I be surprised to find out its MEXICAN? Does not matter to me. This car had been sitting in a body shop for the past 11 years. I got it out of there some time ago and now it’s time to deal with her. It was born like this. Convertible (power top) with optional turn signal hood. standard interior. 289 2-V engine. C-4 Cruise-o-matic 3 speed automatic transmission 3. 00 gear open rear end and power steering. The air conditioning reads “SEARS” and if you would like I am certain I can make it function like new again. Call O. C. or Scott 361-331-3322 This car needs a complete restoration to be nice. It is a GREAT place to start but it does need everything. I robbed the distributor out of this car a few months ago and will replace before auction end. The 289 runs OK but it is certainly showing its age. The trans works but leaks pretty badly. The body is in good condition with minor rust issues BUT only on places as the hood etc. THERE ARE NO MAJOR RUST ISSUES at all on this car as far as any of the frame. torque boxes. rockers etc. It is solid. The top may be salvageable as it is in nice condition. Power steering works well but it too leaks. You’re not allowed to ask if the air blows cold. but I’ll tell you anyway. right now it does not work. The paint is new …. 11 years ago and is not nice. Cleaned up she will shine but……it is just not a nice paint job. At least by my measure. You’re gonna have a lot of questions. Write down the items most important to you and call us. This car will be sold RUNNING. I will replace the distributor and see to that. We can assist with shipping worldwide and have done so many times. This Mustang. if taken on as a project will be well over 200 that we have done. You can rest assured that we have the skills and knowledge to do whatever you would like to have done to this car OR will sell her just like it sits. We would be happy to send you pics of previous builds and references. I ask that you are serious about purchasing with a build to request them as this takes time and we have lots of inquiries. I am fully aware that this car looks like hell. BUT as a restorer for the better part of 3 decades. I can tell you this is a great car to begin with. The rust repair and prep time would be minimal and that is a HUGE cost of building a car. I would really like to build it as a SHELBY clone. I have a nice . rop in ready. 5. 0 fuel injected motor with auto overdrive in stock right now and what a short cut way to get started! On Jan-04-15 at 10:43:58 PST. seller added the following information: lets be clear. The vin is stamped on the fender aprons. It has 3 places where it is stamped. THIS IS A MEXICAN CAR and all the rules about vin numbers are off. The "J" in the vin does NOT mean a 302 4-V engine. This car has its original 289 2-V engine. the "01 in the vin does not mean a base hard top in MEXICO. This car is what it is. I have PERSONALLY removed the right fender to inspect the vin stamps on it. They are there and correct. I have posed additional pictures that I have been asked for. Hope this helps. BTW Marti reports can NOT be gotten on this car. It was the first thing I did when I got it. was to request a report. not gonna happen. THANKS and keep looking! On Jan-04-15 at 11:05:41 PST. seller added the following information: vin number 8R01J120337
