Description for Ford Thunderbird 1955
Due to health problems, I am selling my 1955 Ford Thunderbird. The car is essentially original, still with the factory 6 volt system. The only non original fixture on the car involves the addition of 1956 Thunderbird wing windows which seem better for air flow with the top down. The dash is nice and all gauges work fine, even the clock. The original 6 volt AM radio is in place but inoperative. The car starts and runs fine. The transmission shifts as it should and the entire drive train is in good shape. The vehicle is equipped with power seats and power steering. A new power seat adjustment motor has just been installed, along with a new Holly carburetor, shocks, exhaust (mufflers), new tune up with plugs, points, condenser, wires, etc., new 6.70 X 15 Coker classic tires, original wheels, and full cover caps, plus a new inspection sticker. A set of 5 wire wheels with spinners (need refurbishing) go with the sale as do extra tires and the car cover. The seats, door and kick panels are in good condition. Likewise for the new Thunderbird floor mats. The brakes are fine and the vacuum system is good. The wipers are slow; not unusual for vacuum wipers. Both the soft top and hard top (1955 with no port hole) are in excellent shape, essentially like new. All chrome is in very nice shape. The repaint is 11 to 12 years old and shows very well. There are a few small paint blisters but nothing serious and can hardly be noticed. The trunk is fine but rather unremarkable. The underbelly and frame of the car are clean. Overall, this is a nice vehicle not without minor concerns such as replacing the horn ring and rebuilding the vacuum motor/pump. No dents, bangs, rips, or tears. Inspections welcome. I will require $1,000 down to Paypal with the remainder in the form of a certified bank check or cash when the vehicle is picked up. I'm in Belington, WV, home phone 304-823-1992 and cell number 304-614-8348. Bob
