Great driving fifties classic
By the mid fifties Detroit's big 3 designs were really coming into their own. The transition from prewar cars to post war offerings were amazing. Much sleeker designs were gracing showrooms across America and Ford was leading the way. Ithas bee well documented how the 49 through 51"Shoebox" Fords had save thecompany from bankruptcy. 1952 marked a bold initiative to keep the momentum going and by 1954 they were established as the styling leader of the industry. The handsome 54 top of the line Crestline with the upgraded Victoria trim you see here is a great example of elegance, style, and practicality. With an all new V8 design under the hood Ford was proud to be offering a new generation motor before Chevy ever had it's first V-8. This car has lovely two tone paint, all the trim you could hang on the body, great glass, and excellent chrome. Speaking of chrome, there is lots of it! From bumper to bumper itjust gleams. There are some neat uniquely fifties options added such as simulated spot lights, low profile simulated Continental kit, front mounted fog lamps, front & rear bumper guards, wide white wall tires, fender skirts, and custom hand painted pin stripes. It is a very tastefully done car that is very easy on the eyes. The matching interior is mostly like new. The fabrics and trim are in outstanding condition. The carpet and headliner need to be replaced. We already have the headliner in a box in the trunk. Speaking of the trunk, it is trimmed in carpet, has a full size spare, and a protective mat. The motor compartment is in stock configuration with the exception of a modern battery and the dual port master cylinder mounted to the power booster. It does have manual steering but operates smoothly. The chassis is clean driver quality and features some new hardware where needed, dual aluminum exhaust, and KYB gas charged shock absorbers. I had a very nice drive in this car during the photo session findingitsmoothout on the road. Lots of thumbs up and lots of smiles. This is an older restoration but still look fresh from most perspectives. This is a classic, collectible, vintage Ford anyone would be proud to own.
