Description for Ford F-100 1969
This awesome 1969 Ford F-100 pickup has lived its entire life in the care of folks who appreciate old iron, and now that it has retired, it's looking to have some fun. With an upgraded 360 under the hood and a gorgeous two-tone paint job, it's a practical yet stylish summertime toy that you're sure to enjoy.Yes, it really is too pretty to be original paint, but last year someone spent good money restoring this truck, while simultaneously keeping the rugged, hard-working look that made these trucks famous. The medium green paint is actually quite sophisticated, neither too bright nor too drab, but a medium color that looks absolutely awesome on the vintage sheetmetal. Add in a white top and you have a classic pickup look that will never go out of style. The honest good looks are something many of us grew up with, and the grille should look familiar to anyone from the '70s and there's no mistaking it from behind as big FORD letters are spelled out on the tailgate. They took the time to retain all the original emblems, too, including the cool side marker lights that incorporate a Ford emblem. A durable spray-in bedliner protects the vintage steel, and affords you the possibility to haul anything you choose without worry. A set of accessory chrome bed rails not only look great but are useful if you're still going to use this truck as a truck (and you know you will). The basic black interior is surprisingly plush and handsome for a blue-collar machine such as this, and thanks to the new seat covers, it's ready to enjoy immediately. Only the matching black arm rests soften the otherwise all-steel doors, a style that was popular in the late-60s, and it goes rather well with the working-class look of the pleated seat and recent black rubber floor covering. Ford's interesting instrument panel features a modest array of gauges that are joined by a set of auxiliary dials under the center of the dash. There's a later AM/FM radio fitted to the dash, right above the controls for the heater system, which remains fully functional as well. Although this truck has power steering, the big steering wheel is reassuring for this big rig and makes wheeling it around effortless under any conditions. The engine is a burly 360 cubic inch V8, which has been upgraded to a 4-barrel carburetor that lives under a bright chrome air cleaner and between a set of simple stamped steel valve covers, giving it a very clean look. The bright Ford Blue engine starts easily and runs smoothly with that seamless flow of torque that only a big V8 can deliver, making it the perfect partner in a truck that's built to move heavy things. Lots of recent service items mean that it's in great health and it still uses stock exhaust manifolds, so there's no leaky exhaust soundtrack. Underneath, it's solid and clean, with a recent dual exhaust system featuring stock-style mufflers and chrome tips that exit under the rear bumper. The C6 3-speed automatic transmission powers a 9-inch rear end, so the hardware doesn't even flinch at the idea of real work and Ford's "Twin I-Beam" front suspension has legendary durability. Those handsome OEM-looking wheels are brand new and carry right-sized 235/70/15 white-letter radials all around. This is a fun, solid truck with zero needs and an awesome look, all at a very reasonable price.
