HOTS RODS IMPERFECTSTEPCHILDREN
THE FOLLOWING FEW SHORT PARAGRAPHS ARE ENTERTAINING AND GIVE INSIGHT INTO YESTERDAYS CITY STREETS This one is a red hot deal. It was owned by a major new car dealer who loved to be seen and admired. He also loved parades and entered the car in countless parades, shows, and cruises. It is 100% ready to drive and enjoy. It has been driven to many distant locations. It is far from a trailer queen. It is rough and ready for just about anything -- just like it's new owner will be. A head spinning, have-another-look rat rod, an imperfect stepchild.
Back in the day, this wasa genuine Sheriff's car with all the bells of its time. There are red lights front and rear, an on-top siren, bullets, original GE radio, walkie talkie, spotlights, Sheriff hatand Sheriff stickers that draw an imaginary picture of yesterday that is full of memories for young and old to enjoy. Just a word to the new owner, if you are the life of the party (or want to be) this car will give you a world of fun, plus it can be driven just about anywhere. It has been completely reliable. With cameras in hand, ahost of onlookersfollow this car every time it is shown.
YESTERDAY
Law enforcement used cars like this one, with their under powered stock flat head engines, for years after they should have been sent to pasture. Faster, higher powered V8s were out running cops everywhere in the late '50s. Imagine the frustration as a dual glass pac hot rod, gesture in hand sped past an obsolete under powered Cop car. Kids and fun-loving rodders of all ages loved it. Until 1960, there was no speed limit north of 8 Mile Road in Michigan. It was a game of catch me if you can. Those days are gone:however, you can capture yesterday and own a bit of history.
Those rod fans who remember tell us that every light was a drag strip and every neighborhood was filled with the sounds of yet another drag race, especially on hot summer nights and weekends. It was music to almost everyone's ear. In those days picnics, Saturday night at the movies, family reunions and street light hot rodding were the norms. If you were just a kid, often times the Cops would simply take youhome and have a talk with your parents. Memories are made of this.
A FEW NOTES ON THIS RAT ROD
You will be pleasantly surprised when you drive this motor car. It handles well at any speed, even at exway speeds. There is no shake or shimmy, no pull to the right or left. There are no strange noises, just the gentle rap of the dual pipes exiting the rear end. This is not a restored car and shares the quality of a true Rat Rod. It has been dependable and driven on a sunny day daily basis to be enjoyed by all who have had the pleasure of seeing it.
This is no slouch and approaches today's standards of speed and comfort. It has been perfectly fitted with the famous Ford 351 V8 engine. It has more than enough power and responds quickly with just a touch on the accelerator. There is no hesitation, itstarts on a dime every time, and goes down the road smoothly and quickly. The only noise you will hear is the bark of the exhaust. It is teamed with a smooth shifting automatic transmission. The engine is well tuned, it idles perfectly and is fun to open the hood and watch others flock to take a peek. The engine and engine compartment are more than presentable and can be shown with pride.
The interior is roomy, comfortable and ready for you the driverand 4 companions. The seats are clean and comfortable. The original carpet is still there and holds many stories of yesterday. Yes, it is well worn but why change it or any part of this car and ruin the fun? There are enough trailer queens on the road, or in trailers, just too nice to drive or touch. One final comment: the trunk holds the original spare bias tire and jack. The frame is solid and the whole underside is dry. It leaves no spots of any kind on my garage floor.
