one thou. eight hundred and eighty two sport roadsters were built in 1962 The first 400 were red with black tops and had a model designation number of 85. the rest have a model designation of 89. Approx 400 sport roadsters were built in 1963 these also had a model designation number of 89 . If you own one of the first 400 and have a build sheet or other proof. you have a true sport roadster. If you have a 1962 or 1963 with a model designation number of 89 you have a true sport roadster. Anything else is a clone. Sport roadsters were only built in 62 and 63. Out of a total of 1882 produced there are probably less than 450 left; sport roadsters were convertibles. with Kelsey Hayes 48 spoke wire wheels and fibreglass tonneau covers. This beautiful example of a sport roadster is in the rare chestnut metallic with a matching leather interior. This car is a survivor with some cosmetic restoration. It has been repainted recently in the original color and has few imperfections. Only thing I can find are a few light scratches on the tonneau cover. A new exhaust system has been installed. Former owner rebuilt the engine and tranny. and installed all new relays in the top mechanism New carpet and battery were installed. Car runs and drives great and would not be afraid to drive it anywhere When car was sanded for repaint. it showed little previous body work. underside of car shows little rust. all body panels seem to be original. will be glad to answer any and all questions.
