Description for Ford Thunderbird 1957
1957 Ford Thunderbird Hardtop ConvertibleWOW! Rare find and a collectors dream! An un-restored 1957 Ford Thunderbird, hard top convertible! This vehicle is an American Icon. We just purchased this T-Bird and couldn't wait to get it on our site! This vehicle belonged to an elderly lady who recently lost her husband. It has been stored in their garage for many years and has many hard to find parts for the restoration to be included in the sale. Build it the way you want it! Under the hood sits a 312 Cu. In., 225hp, 5.1L V8 engine with a 4-barrel carburetor mated to a Ford-O-Matic 2-speed automatic transmission. This transmission featured a "low gear", which was accessible only by the gear selector. When in "Drive" it became a 2-speed automatic transmission. Alloy wheels with "Wide Oval" tires. In 1957 the Thunderbird came with a reshaped front bumper, a larger grille and tail fins and larger tail lamps. The instrument panel was heavily re-styled with round gauges in a single pod, and the rear of the car was lengthened, allowing the spare tire to be positioned back in the trunk. The 1957 Ford Thunderbird has been a collector car almost since its introduction. Many enthusiasts consider the two-seat 1957 Thunderbird to be the best-looking Thunderbird ever made, if not one of the best-looking cars ever made. Its timeless, two seater design is recognized worldwide! Designed to compete wîth the Corvette, the Ford T-Bird was more a sporty cruiser than serious sports car. Despite its powerful V8 engine and sleek silhouette, the T-bird was more at home on the boulevard than the racetrack. We are selling this TBird "as is" not running.Want to be sure everyone understands what they are buying. It isexactly as pictured in photos. Not in working order.Contact Alicia 754-224-1311.
