Description for Ford Mustang 1966
This is my Wife’s babied 1966 Mustang. You can see by the pictures the car is very sweet looking and in extremely good condition.
This was originally built in California in 1966 and lived almost its entire life there. I was told it was a 2 owner car with original miles when we bought it, the car now shows 62k. As a result this car has all its original sheet metal panels and no rust! Everything is solid as a rock. We had the car shipped to us in Iowa.
The body, paint and interior is in very nice condition. It drives awesome, probably better than it did in 1966. This car has recently had all new suspension put in it. All new springs front and rear, new control arms and all steering components, as well as all the shocks, it rides and drives very nice. A rebuilt driveshaft was also installed as well as all new brakes and exhaust system.
It has a JVC stereo in the glove box with remote to maintain the factory look inside, but yet it sounds great with upgraded speakers.
An aluminum high capacity radiator was added due to the original having a small leak. The original radiator is included with the sale if wanted.
The car has the factory Rally Gage Package, as well as Power Steering, Power Disc Front Brakes, Air Conditioning, Center Council, Automatic Transmission. The 17” FOOSE chrome wheels were of course added and look like brand new. The tires are at 95% tread.
The stripes were added (vinyl). I also have a high quality OEM style set of white stripes (valance to valance) in the box that will go with the car if wanted. We couldn’t decide between the two styles to install. Or they can easily be removed completely for a clean look.
The car was undercoated when new for sound deadening.
She receives several compliments and ‘thumbs up” every time she drives it. It only goes out on sunny days and stays in the garage when not on the road, and of course stored in a heated garage and not driven in the winter months.
The reason for selling is we also have a 1966 Fastback Mustang, we can’t drive both enough to justify having two, so one needs to go. Since the fastback is a little more rare we decided to keep that one (it was a tough decision).
This car is nice (actually much nicer than our fastback), you will not be disappointed. A real head turner, also has a great exhaust sound.
The car was never a rusted out, tore up, basket case that was rebuilt with aftermarket China parts like 90% + of these cars for sale out there.
I can help arrange shipping, I know a guy that ships cars for a living. Of course you will need to cover the cost. An example would be, I just had an antique John Deere tractor shipped from Iowa to Florida for $650. And that took more room and was heavier than this Mustang.
I can send close up, orspecific area pics if you ask. I will entertain serious offers, please no ridiculous low ball offers.
*My wife and I are not car dealers, so please only bid if you want and can afford the car. If you win the auction you bought the car, it’s not a bid to come and look at it. You’re welcome to come and look it over any time before the auction ends.
Thanks for looking
