Description for Ford Bronco 1979
No Reserve Freewheeling design with 400m and manual transmissionThe engine runs great and 4 wheel drive works great. Transmission likes to grind going in 3rd and 4th and it just likes to be jammed into 3rd to catch it right. By jammed I mean (go into gear fast not slow) or else it would rather be put in 4th before 3rd then back into 3rd. So its easier to just shift it fast and hard to catch 3rd. Its holds the gears fine once in them without much noise.
Just replaced the timing chain and gears, water pump, new HEI 1 wire distributor and wires, fan shroud, battery, radiator, oversized gas tank and radius arm bushings. Runs cool and sounds great. The whole truck is really not in bad shape other than the fading paint and the couple pics showing rust spots and the drivers door you can see the dent at the bottom. Tail gate is rust free! Tailgate glass goes up and down the way it should with the switch, the handle to open the tailgate is broke where the linkage hooks up but the panel is just sitting on for the pics and you can open the tailgate with the linkages.
Drivers side rear glass on the top is chipped out with a crack running from it that the pictures show. AC will need a charge and a belt but its all there other than that, heater works great. Anything else I might have missed is small easy fix stuff.
I have a bunch of receipts and the original sales receipt from all the way back at day one. Also a whole write up in here about the freewheeling package that appears to be the same age as all the rest of these old receipts. Who ever the original owner was new what he wanted obviously when it came to the freewheeling package. It even shows the 400m and the manual transmission as part of it. But I'll leave this to your discretion. Folder of papers is about 1" thick.
Tires are about 60-70% tread and no leaks under it.
