Description for Ford Fairlane 1956
I originally bought this 1956 ford fairlane town sedan to use as a parts car, but then thought that it might be too nice for a parts car. It is not totally rusted away even though the floors are pretty rusty. The trunk floor and tire tub are both in good shape except for a three inch hole back in the corner on the driver side. The tail pan looks ok as does the deck lid and hood. Both the deck lid and hood emblems are not correct for a fairlane though. The front fenders both have been patched on the lower part behind the wheel wells, but on the underside of the headlights they appear to be solid. I crawled under the car and from what I could see, the frame appears to be rust free except for surface rust. Even the front cross member looks to be not rusted. The rocker panels and rear quarter panels on both sides have rust and would need to be patched or replaced. The stainless on the car looks ok and both of the bumpers are in decent condition. There are no rust holes in the rear bumper as sometimes is the case. The grill looks pretty good and would clean up and shine a little. There is a dent on the driver half but it is not too bad. I think you can see it in the picture. The parking light housings are not broken but they do have a little pitting. Not as bad as some that I have seen though. The interior has been done sometime in the past, but it would need to be done again as it is dirty and torn, There is no headliner and the seats and door panels have been wet and are moldy. The engine in the car is not the original 292. At one time some one has replaced it with what I think is '55 or '56 272. The engine turns over but I have not been able to get it to run. It will fire a little if I feed gas into the carburetor. I have no idea what shape the transmission is in except that the fluid looks ok. The car does roll easily as I have removed all the brake hard ware from the wheels. The shoes were all frozen to the drums due to the car sitting for awhile. There is a clean transferable MN. title for the car. There will be a nonrefundable $200.00 fee due within three days of the end of the auction. This can be paid through pay pal if you want. The balance will be due within ten days cash, money order, or bank check. The car can remain here for thirty days but will need to be paid for within ten days. The buyer will be responsible for transporting the car, but I can assist with loading. The tires will all hold air for one to three days. Please ask any questions you may have through ebay and I will get back to you. Thank you for your interest. When I originally listed this '56 ford the passenger side rear window was not broken. Now it is. The glass is still in it, but it is pretty well broken. I will include another window with it. Sorry.
