Description for Ford Mustang 1984
You are bidding on a 1984 SVO Mustang WITHOUT an engine. It has a good Georgia title with odometer exemption. The car has a good body with some rust in the LR quarter wheel opening (see picture). The evidently low dollar paint is peeling off in places, it was originally dark charcoal grey. It was updated with Thunderbird Turbo Coupe engine, trans and computer and drivable until the turbocharger died. The engine was removed, the transmission and computer are still in the car. It has a new radiator. The seats are original and in good condition. The original door panels are in good shape. All the electrics work but the door and window switches need repairs. All the glass in the car is in good condition. The car was running and driving before the engine was removed, we drove it up onto the trailer to bring it home. The car has factory AC but the dash is comp prep. A used dash panel with the center AC ducting is included. It has the original steering wheel with a custom cover on it. The floors are in excellent condition with new dark grey carpet in the Auto Custom Carpet box. The hatch has a new weather-strip and a new door glass weather-strip is installed on the driver’s side. The new passenger weather-strip is included. The bi plane wing has been installed with well nuts so it can be easily removed. The sunroof is not factory, flips up and is removable. It does not leak. The front bumper cover has been repaired with the lower lip reinforced with fiberglass and plywood. All the original SVO suspension, brakes and wheels are on the car. The Koni shocks are missing and the previous owner cut the springs to lower the car.
This SVO was running and driving when I purchased it. The previous owner stated he was driving it until the oil light came on. We discovered the turbo bushings were destroyed and the impeller had eaten into the housing. When the head was removed it was discovered the head was cracked on three exhaust valve seats. The exhaust manifold was also cracked. The damage to the engine was consistent with inexperienced people working on a turbo car. The oiling and coolant to the turbo were amateur and leaking. This is an excellent project car if you have a hot turbo 4 or want a good Fox body for a V8 swap.
