"This Is Not A Kit Car". The Parts That Went Into This Car Are From OEM Shelby Parts. The Body Is An Original Kevlar-Carbon Fiber Body Offered In 1966-67. This Was An Option In Place Of The Aluminum Body And Stronger. The FE 427 Center Oiler. nbsp; Which Replaced The 289. nbsp; Was Used To Give The Cobra More Top End And Compete At Daytona. After One Year Of Racing . nbsp; Shelby Found That At Continuous High RPM. nbsp; The Main Bearings And Pistons Were Wearing More Than They Liked. nbsp; Thus Came The Noted 427 Side Oiler. This Design Brought The Oil To The Main Bearings And Pistons First. nbsp; Thus Increasing Longevity During A Race. The Original Cobra Only Had Two Small Fans In Front Of The Radiator For Additional Cooling For Pit Stops Or When Driving Slow. This Car Has The Original OEM Fans Up Front. You Can Also See In The Lower Snout In Front Of The Car The Oil Cooler. The Engine Oil Is Circulated Through This Cooler To Help Keep The Oil Cool. From The Dealer You Had A Choice Of Chrome Bumper- Pads Or The Lift Arms For Changing Tires During A Race. The Lift Arms Weren't Legal In Some States. This Car Has The Chrome Bumper -Pads. Engine: Original 1966 Solid Lifter Dual Quad FE 427 Center Oiler With Correct Motocraft Carburetors. HP: 585 @ 6100 RPM. Torque: 590 LBS @ 4800 RPM. Transmission: Ford 10 Bolt Close Ratio 4 Speed. Rear End: Ford 9" 3:73 Posi. {Not A Locker}. Top Speed: 145 MPH. Color: Black With White Stripes. Suspension: Staggerd 4 Link Rear-End. nbsp; Angled A Arm Front End With Coil -Overs All Around. This Makes For Very Positive Handling On A Road Course. Gauges: Stewart Warner. Brakes: Oversize Lincoln Discs All Around. Frame: Boxed Style To Give The Car Ruggedness. Sterring: Rack And Pinion.
