Description for Ford Mustang 1965
It's hard not to get excited about an American icon like the 1965 Ford Mustang. And while we have a nice selection of preserved/restored vehicles that feel fresh from Dearborn, this V8 coupe is looking for someone who wants to be very distinct in a star-studded crowd.Red and chrome are the two usual hallmarks of the first full production year Mustangs, but this one draws inspiration from a different part of pony car history. That Grabber Blue paint is the kind of color we love on the bold Boss 302s. And the black accents are from this muscle car muse, too. But this '65 is not trying to be a clone of its '69 counterpart. Instead, you see its own unique livery with the dual stripes running down the rocker panels as well as running the entire top of the car, including the roof. Plus, the cowl hood adds a real performance distinction. But what you probably noticed first was the extra-bold move to turning all the chrome into matte black to match the striping package. It has a racer-like quality that makes this a standout right down to the blue-painted pony up front. But since this is a true classic American, it doesn't completely skip the brightwork. It now just draws attention to the cool 17-inch Rocket Racing alloy wheels. The theme of distinction continues on the inside. When you open the door, the white vinyl seats are immediate standouts and look great in any classic ride. The two tone door panels do a great job of merging the pristine white with the deep black carpeting, headliner, and custom center console. You grab the classic-style wood and chrome Mustang three-spoke steering wheel, which gives you a great view of the upgraded five-gauge GT instrument panel. While these are vintage factory items, this interior has some nice upgrades, too. It includes the modern AM/FM/CD stereo with aux input for modern music players, the Hurst ratchet performance shifter, and the large tach just ahead of it.The black and blue theme continues in the engine bay. With the Ford racing valve covers, Mustang air grabber, wires, and even the engine block following this scheme, you'll be proud to lift the hood wherever you go. But beyond just looking good, you've got Ford's trusty and powerful 289 cubic-inch V8 that fires up easily and idles smoothly with a sweet rumble out of the dual exhaust. In fact, this one is built to be a driver with reliable features like the aluminum radiator and a new fuel sending unit. But this car was also maintained with a performance eye. Remember that you have the ratchet shifter to go through the gears when you want it, and so it's nice that it is connected to a stout C4 three-speed automatic transmission. Plus, there are great handling features such as a thicker front sway bar, a performance front disc brake package, and the grip of BF Goodrich gForce Sport tires at all four corners. This '65 coupe offers pure distinction without giving up the soul that made these early pony cars an icon. It's not a Mustang for everyone, but you might want to hurry. After all, there are others as bold as you out there and there's only one of these up for grabs. Call now!!
