Description for Ford Mustang 1965
You already like a tribute car because it's a great way to get into a dream classic for a much smaller price. But you should really dig deeper into this 1965 Mustang Shelby GT350 fastback tribute. With a supercharged V8, this one will make people not think twice about it being original right up until it passes those Shelbys like they were standing still. There's just no mistaking the original GT350 appearance. It starts with taking one of the rarest and often most valuable of the three Mustang configurations, the 2+2 fastback, and making it even better looking. So getting a tribute right is already an expensive proposition. This one started out with desirable Wimbledon White paint. It was professionally resprayed during restoration, and now it includes the competition stripes that look quite distinctive in a very deep, dark blue. Those stripes give the car some added flair, as do the mirror-like chrome bumpers and the upgrade to 17-inch Eagle Alloy wheels. But at its heart, this is a true Shelby tribute. The hood scoop, side stripes, side scoops, and a snake-bitten gas cap compete the GT350 packaging correctly. The interior is the perfect blend of vintage restoration and upgrades where you would want them the most. It starts with the black bucket seats that look like they are fresh from the factory in '65. The same level of investment goes for the door panels, carpeting, headliner, and fold-down rear seat. Even the AM/FM radio has that great authentic look and feel (but it does have aux input for your modern music player.) You'll slip behind the wood-rimmed Shelby sports steering wheel. As you gaze at the upgraded AutoMeter gauge panel that's both in front of you and on the A-pillar, you instantly know there's something very special in the engine bay.The moment you pop the hood you can see the serious investment in this car. That shiny Paxton supercharger looks great, and more importantly, it gives this V8 a serious boost in power. And that's not the only performance upgrade. The 289 cubic-inch motor has been bored out to 302, and its been given throttle body fuel injection, hydraulic cam, GT40 heads, MSD ignition, and long-tube headers. The full package is rated at around 400 horsepower. So you know the moment the moment you rev the motor where the dual exhaust gives a rumble and the supercharger produces its whine, it will be a truly awesome experience that you and everyone within earshot won't forget. This is mated to an AOD four-speed automatic overdrive transmission with a 2,800 RPM stall to keep you in the powerband. And that feeds the Traction Lok rear end running 3.90 gears. In a total power package like this you're going to want to have complete control. That's why it has been upgraded to Randall rack & pinion steering, thicker sway bar, four-wheel disc brakes, and modern directional sport tires. This is such a cool custom that it made the cover of Detroit Speed Shops magazine. So you're looking at a tribute car that can also stand on its own ground. That's why we love it, and at this price, we also know it won't be with us long. Call today!!!
