Description for Ford Mustang 1978

Very nice. Very clean 1978 King Cobra. Black on black this car is fresh out of a total repaint. The body panels all line up great with all the gaps being even. The doors. trunk. and hood all close nice and easy. Tires are in new condition and the wheels themselves are free from any damage. This car starts right up and runs great. Second gear kept popping out so I am having the transmission redone. Also replacing the rear brakes. axle seals. and temp sensor for the engine. There is no rust on this car!! "If I get a chance I will add pics of the underside" The interior is free of any flaws. The dash is all together. the seats have no cracks or splits. The carpet is in great shape. There are a few hairline scratches in the metal look plastic behind the instruments. It is faint enough for it to look more marbled than cut. and the chrome piece under the gear shift handle will not polish out perfect. Pedal surfaces are new as are the shift boot and the air cleaner. Radio replaced with more modern since pics. now will have ipod. bluetooth. cd. ct. Production was around 4300 units for this car and many were junked for lack of value after their drivetrain's were removed. The series 2 is gaining interest and this car is most likely one of the best examples around. If you have any questions or need specific information I will be happy to answer all I know. Good luck and happy bidding Below is what is written in Wikipedia: By many respects the Mustang II was heavily under appreciated. being the first Mustang that was V8 powered to have a rack and pinion steering front end. a fact that did not go unnoticed by hot rodders who harvested these cars by the thousands to put under cars and trucks with a less desirable front suspension geometry. The quality interior was comfortable. with modern options such as a center console. bucket seats. full gauge cluster. map light and sporty handling and trim packages which were superior to the offerings of other auto manufacturers. Of course. this explains why the Mustang II outsold its competition in its class by 2 to 1 and most by much larger margins. "Many Mustang enthusiasts disdained the Mustang II as an aberration. not a 'real' Mustang. It was. however. a product of its time. and many find it a highly desirable collectible today as a quality built car in an era of mediocrity. "[16] While lack of parts vendor support has made keeping mustang IIs on the road in original condition. the Mustang II is increasing in popularity among collectors. "it as a historically significant car and a decent performance in its day at that" with "the 1978 Mustang II King Cobra is one '70s era Ford that deserves a spot in the enthusiast's garage. "[29]
