Description for Ford Other Pickups 1949
Here is your chance to get a mint condition 1949 Ford F-1 V8 pick up truck! Recently these trucks have been increasing in value at a rapid pace, and if the past is any indication, they willcontinueto go up in value. Not many investments are sure things, but a vehicle like this is! Besides, how many investments can you actually drive around and enjoy? The truck has been totally restored and needs nothing. The exterior is finished in the original FORDtomatored, and the underside is as nice as the exterior of the truck and is probably better than the way the truck left the factory! The truck was totally disassembled sand blasted andcompletelyrebuilt and restored, and sits on a set oforiginalstyle bias ply Firestone tires with the factory "FORD" hubcaps. The glass, windshieldand weatherstripping are all new. The bed is in mint condition with all new wood that has beenfinishedon both sides with 6 coats of actual spar marine varnish. The interior is all new as well and has been restored in factory correct gray panel board and gray vinyl bench seat. The gauges were also totally rebuilt and all function as they should. There is a very small crack in the gauge panel glass in one corner, but very hard to notice unless it's pointed out.
The truck has very strong mechanicals and everything has been serviced or rebuilt as follows:
ENGINEThe engine was upgraded atsome pointlong ago with the very desirable 255 Mercury flathead V8 which was very popular upgrade back in the 50's. Now the255ci "mercury" V8 has beencompletelyrebuilt with new bearings, pistons, valves, springs, cam, reground crankshaft, new oil pump, new timing gears, water pumps, hardened seats for unleaded gas, the engine runs like a sewing machine with a set of electronic points.
Electrical System:
The whole electrical system has been restored with factory correct, reproduction wiring harness, rebuilt generator, factory correct reproduction battery cable, new 6 volt battery, NOS voltage regulator, rebuilt starter, new lights through out
Exhaust system:
The exhaust system is completely new, with factory correct bends and brackets, It is routed just the way it was in 1949, and sounds great with a NOS muffler!
Suspension and steering:
The suspension/steering is completely new with new frame bushings, new springs, new shocks, new king pins, new drag link, new tie rods, new wheel bearings, rebuilt differential and rebuilt steering box.
Fuel system:
The fuel system is completely rebuilt with a new gas tank and sending unit, new fuel lines, factory rebuilt fuel pump, factory restored and replated carburetor. The truck runs perfectly!
Cooling System:
The cooling system has new hoses through out with the factory correct clamps, new water pumps, new heater core, and a new reproduction ALUMINUM radiator so the truck will never over heat! On the hottest days the truck runs nice and cool!
Brake system:
The brake system has been serviced with new rubber hoses, new stainless steel prebent hard lines, new wheel cylinders, new brake shoes new master cylinder, The truck stops great for a 1949 truck!
Clutch/transmission
The clutch is brand new along with the pressure plate, and release bearing. The 3 speed transmission was disassembled, cleaned and reassembled, but still likes to leak a little....I think it's allergic to the oil! The transmission shifts well, with double clutching, and clutch engages smoothly and positively with no noises.
The body is all steel with the exception of the lower front fender extensions which are fiberglass, (hard to tell unless someone points it out) All the fenders panels, cab were sandblasted and refinished on both sides. Underneath the truck shines like the exterior. The bed is completely new along with the "FORD" script tailgate and correct tailgate chains. The truck paint has some very slight imperfections here and there, but you'll never notice them unless someone points them out to you. On the rear fender there is a crack in the paint where the tire threw a stone, but again hard to notice unless it's pointed out. See the picture with the finger, where I'm pointing it out! The body has an antenna but no radio. I wanted to put on in but couldn't find a correct style radio.
The frame was also sandblasted and refinished with black polyurethane chassis paint, as were the suspension components and differential
Here is a brief list of what's new on the truck

There's too much to list new!! I stopped adding up the receipts when I got to $30k....I have a lot of the receipts and a clear title, and I'm very close to NY so exporting is no problem. Please no tire kickers, or low feedback/scammer bidders, your bid will be canceled! If you have to ask your wife, or the bank if you can buy the truck please do so prior to bidding!
