1969 Shelby Mustang GT 350 Hertz 351 W Solid Body Southern Car

Description for Ford Mustang 1969

This is an original 1969 Shelby Mustang GT 350 Hertz. The second owner bought the car in 1970 from Hertz and had it until I got it this year. I have the Marti Report for this Shelby GT 350. All data/factory tags are on the car including door tags and windshield VIN tag. This Shelby was originally Black Jade with white interior with automatic trans. power steering. tilt wheel. power disc brakes. air conditioning with AM radio. The roll bar and seat belts are in good condition. The original window glass is also in good condition. All the original sheet metal is on the car except for a section that was welded in on the passenger rear quarter and you can see surface rust on that spot where the section was welded in (see photo). The original fiberglass is in good condition. The original space saver spare is in the trunk along with the original "Shelby" 351W aluminum intake and some original 351W air conditioning parts (see photo). The car sat in a garage since 1992 and I was able to get the car running recently. The floors and frame rails are in beautiful rust-free condition. The cowl does not leak and appears solid. There is bad rust in the door corners and rust on the top of shock tower passenger side only. There are also some small pin holes on the trunk floor. Quarters have maybe very minor rust. The original 351 W was replaced by a 302 back in the 1970s after the owner had trouble with the 351. When I got it I changed the oil. did and minor tune up and started the car off an external gas can. It runs good and clunks right into first gear. If I had brakes I'd drive it. needs master cylinder. Most everything works on the car. but since the car needs brake work I have not driven it. It does run good with no smoke and good oil pressure (see photo) and goes right into drive 1st gear. The power steering pump leaks fluid at the pump housing O-ring. It also needs a gas tank to run on the road (maybe I'll get to that). Original radiator and fan shroud still on car. The original carpet is in the car and is in fair condition. This is a good. solid original Shelby Hertz and 1 of less that 200 made. You can enjoy it now and restore later. I bought a 1968 GT 350 recently and so I am selling this car to make room. I have a good title. Please call for more info or pictures. (301) 237-8360.
